Great burgers!

Great service & friendly staff plus the burgers are to die for! The location is very nice & view is great.
Excellent burgers, delicious fries and onion rings!
by BigReddy
When I was growing up, we always went to Island's for special occasions. To this day, I love a good burger--and Island's burgers are my favorite. I usually get the Hula (with sauteed 'shrooms). The burgers are very juicy and tender, the inside of the buns just lightly crisped. The fries and onion rings are just right--just enough oil and not too salty. Service is always good when I go. There can be a wait during peak hours. Desserts are also yummy and rich.
- Pros: Fresh food, just the way burgers and fries should be made.
A Southern California staple!
by angeliquor08
Many of my adolescent nights were spent at Islands with friends. It's a very popular restaurant among residents of the Pasadena area. It's one of those restaurants that everyone can agree on because they serve classic all-American food in a playful atmosphere.
- Pros: pretty cheap, fast service
- Cons: not very healthy
If Gilligan opened a burger joint, this would be it.

The Scene
With thatched umbrellas, photos of crashing waves, stuffed toucans and a soundtrack of twangy '60s surf-rock, it doesn't take a genius to figure out this chain's theme. Yep, it's beach, burgers and plenty of kitsch. The jovial atmosphere and service (not to mention a full-service bar) lures lunching business folk, beer-drinking college students and families with food-throwing toddlers.
The Food
Like the decor, the menu is a no-brainer--sandwiches, salads, fries and burgers. Served in a basket with fork and knife, thick beef patties come grilled to order with lettuce, tomato and any variety of extras. For a lighter bite, try one of the soft tacos. Filled with either fish or chicken, the wraps are inauthentic, but tasty. Yaki tacos are stuffed with teriyaki chicken, chives, pineapple and jack cheese. Whatever you order, don't forget the fries. These hand-cut, super-crispy sticks are addicting, especially when dipped in creamy ranch dressing.
Happy Hour

Good happy hour: $1 off beer, and 1/2 off appetizers....plus it goes until 7pm, it gives you decent enough time to get there after work.
- Pros: happy hour, greasy food
- Cons: greasy food
