I went with a few friends and had a blast, of course how can n you not have fun when you are drunk in an hour. From what I remember the drinks were a great price ( only paid for 2 for the 7) and the band was great. Would go again.
Pros: Drinks
Cons: Small place

Tangier is a very elegant and hip looking restaurant. However, looks may be deceiving. My overall experience wasn't that great. The I ordered the shrimp linguini and it only had 3 shrimps! The portions were very small. I usually get full before I can finish the whole plate, but seems like I had to rely on dessert this time to get full (which was very delicious by the way). There was a small insect in my wine. It got replaced, but the waitress pretended it was cork. Who was she trying to kid? Cork doesn't have 6 legs and wings. We still got charged for the drink. Typically restaurants remove it from the tab to make up for it. The valet parking was $5 and parking on the street was not an option. There weren't any spaces available.
Pros: Nice setting
Cons: the food

Actually, we thought the food was really good Great cappucino and flourless chocolate cake We were there on a Wednesday and the jazz duo was great. There's two areas that have music and the dining room is really romantic, the blonde pianist has a great voice

Oh and when we ordered Dessert, and they were out of Cheesecake which is a Dessert STAPLE. Sounds like poor management to me. Though my friend and I had a great time due to each other's company, the Dining portion of the experience was poor. Though I still wouldn't write Tangier off ( the bar menu might work), it is definitely only a place to have a drink or a snack (in a intimate loungy vibe) and hear a crooner AFTER you've eaten Dinner somewhere else......Again, I have never posted something like this, but felt STRONGLY the need to share.

They bring in some good bands to perform here. I love the atmosphere and the music!! Went there a few times with friends and we always had a blast! Just don't order any food here.. It's expensive and the food is totally not worth it! The bartenders are very friendly, but they can't make good drinks (have had 4 different cocktails and margaritas and they were all disappointing).
Pros: music
Cons: food

I went here after the Greek theatre one night and had a great time. It is really beautiful inside- I just cannot believe we have never gone here. We had some great appetizers at the bar- I cannot stop thinking about the calamari- the best I have had in La. All in all a great experience ! The live music room looks amazing... so I will be going back to see a show there. Check it OUT!
Pros: decor, appetizers and live music room

Finally decided to go to Tangier, and it wasnt all that. Nice romantic place, but doesnt live up to its expectations. It is a great for a drink or two, great decor, and good service; however, food was terrible. I ordered some chicken and it was tasteless, and the portion was very small. I am not one to complain about portions, but this was ridiculous based on the price. Would not recommend this place to anyone, unless its just for a drink.
Pros: decor, service, drinks
Cons: food

Not impressed with the food. For a place called Tangier, you would expect a great morrocan dishes. Disappointing. Wait staff was nice. Too bad the food wasn't good.

I have been going here for 2 years now we are lucky enough to live right around the corner. My sister and I love their food and the live music. They have made some changes and they look great. We love the new elegant wine glasses. My wine sommelier friends are going to be extremely pleased. When you go, be sure to endulge in the food and the live music (they bring in some of the finest Los angeles musicians). Try the Feta cube and the Salmon or the Black cod.
Pros: best music room, ambience and food
Cons: closes early on week nights
