Great, unique food
by LenaArc
Porto's has really good food that you won't really find anywhere else. They have fried potato and meat appetizers, chicken pie, and the most amazing desserts ever!!!!
Great food , bad service. The staff are a bunch of rifraff who hook up their own kind.

As good as it is here, there should be someone we can hire to stand in line for us to place orders. This place contains some of the best baked goods yet the people that work there treat customers so poorly and they get away with it. Where else can you get food faster if you speak Spanish? Only at Portos.
- Pros: Baked goods
- Cons: Desserts aren't all that, rude customer service.
Great customer service
by RockLA
I recently ordered a custom cake and favor cookies at Porto's for a baby shower. The prices were reasonable compared to other bakeries. In addition to the great customer service I received, my order was ready within one week. Other bakeries were booked and required custom cake and cookie orders a month in advance. All the guests at the baby shower thought the cuban cake flavor was delicious. Because of the popularity of Porto's there was a slight wait to place an order, but it was worth it!!!
Overated, Cake's Look Nasty!!!
by citylover2
I think that this bakery is really overrated. I had the opportunity to have their cakes and sandwiches couple of times and it is never the best. The way their cake's look - it's pretty nasty. I think people just go there to say they have been there. I don't think there is anything special about the food or service. You can go to any bakery, even Ralphs and get a better looking and tasting cake. there is nothing there that amazes me other than the nasty tasting sandwiches and cakes...
Some of my favorite food, and for very cheap
by MtumbeWong
The chorizo pie and the papa rellena (stuffed potato ball) are two of my favorite foods anywhere. And their desert selection is gigantic, and they all look like works of art. I've only had two desserts including the Mango Cheesecake, but it was really good.
- Pros: Food
- Cons: Extremely crowded.
Horrible Experience-Needs new STAFF!!!
by TrendyYenny
Everybody loves Portos and so do I, but in the past year I had three bad experiences. Most recent experience: I ordered a cake and cupcakes for my 25th bday party. When I first placed the order the employee was not nice and not helpful at all. I explained to her in detail as to how I wanted the order done, and still she didnt understand a word i said. I went back just to confirm the order just to be safe, ad sure enough the order was all wrong. I asked for a manager to take my order to avoid any problems or confusions. Now please know that my order was NO COMPLICATED AT ALL!!!! It was a simple plain white 9" cake with white dots and 3 dozens of chocolate cupcakes with white smooth frosting and coconut flakes. On the day of the event, my sister picked up my order and WHY WAS THE ORDER WRONG??!!! The order that THE MANAGER ORDERED for me was a cake with RED DOTS and the cupcakes were WHITE BREAD WITH PINK AND YELLOW FROSTING WITH COCONUT FLAKES! They handed this order to my sister, thinking it would be ok! Now you get my horrible experience? I had to get on the phone w/the manager for 30min to try to get this order fixed. Their excuse was "we dont have chocolate mix anymore"! How can a Bakery run out of chocolate mix? How stupid and ignorant do they think I am! What gives them the RIGHT to change my order and think that its ok? Now like i said this is 1 out 3 experiences that I had and all they do is fix it (4hrs) & say "sorry". I was so dissapointed and still am! Unfortunatly, Portos is advertised and ranked on The Knot magazine, its a shame how the really mess up on some oders and still get that title. They're food is great but their service is really starting to go down hill and they really need to change their staff ASAP!
- Cons: Bad Service; Horrible Staff;
BEST PASTRIES AND BREAD IN TOWN!!!
by elnatty007
These are some of the best pastries available, no matter what! The prices are very good, and they have a great variety; sandwiches, breakfast, cakes, pastries, meat pies and potato ball s, and good coffee, as well. Also good is the guava-mango smoothie. Just avoid going during lunch hours and early mornings on the weekend, it is HECTIC!!!
My favorite bakery!
by yoliwong
I've been a fan of Porto's for many years now. I love everything that I've ordered from there. The pastries, the breads, sandwiches, cakes, EVERYTHING. However, I am a little disappointed that recently they've changed their fruit tart cakes. Before it used to be filled with only custard. Now they've added a layer of cake and then only a thin layer of custard on top. I can understand that maybe some people thought that there was too much custard before, but for me it was just perfect the way it was before. But everything else is still awesome as usual! I'm just sad that my favorite item is not good for me anymore.
- Pros: EVERYTHING is delicious and good for your bucks!
- Cons: bring the old style fruit tart cakes back please!!!!
A Local MUST
by netter1
If you live in the Glendale area and enjoy wonderful pastries/cakes/desserts...Porto's is a must-visit-bakery. Even with all the great Armenian bakeries in Glendale, Porto's is still one of my favorites. You'd think that the crowds here would be less since they opened the larger location in Burbank...not a chance! You still have to wait your turn in the line that simulates a queue at Disneyland. They did my mother's 60th birthday cake and it was a wonderfully light lemon cake with whipped cream frosting. I highly recommend Porto's. Stop in and give it a try. Oh...and if you can't find parking on the street, try around back.
