Fine for a massage: but avoid brow services!

by jtsimms at Citysearch

This is my first review on citysearch and I am only doing it to warn others. I have been to Murad for a massage in the past, and thought it was very good, so I thought the other services would be equally good. I went in for an eyebrow wax with Ronnie and it was the worst wax I have ever had. I asked for my brows to be simply cleaned up and I left with tiny slivers for eyebrows. I had a burn mark on my lid from the wax which was way too hot and it will take months for brows to grow back to normal. What upset me the most is that I was very specific about wanting to keep my brows thick. In the past I have gone to Anastasia in BH and Zoey at Chignon in Pasadena, both excellent. It is worth the hassle and wait to go there instead. Overall, I'm sorry to report it was an extremely upsetting experience.

Best place on earth

by _mv_ at Citysearch

I visited this place yesterday to get millia extractions w/Rosa. She was amazing and made me feel really comfortable. The outcome of the extractions was fantastic! She squeezed them all out that existed around my eye area WARNING-not a very pleasant procedure, but definitely worth the pain. I feel like a new person and the results are great!!!! She gave me some good pointers about how to take care of my skin internally and externally and thought that was helpful. The office was clean and pretty nice. I plan on making another appointment, but this time for a facial.

Would go back

by mispicky at Citysearch

I had a facial with Meridith who was great. At the end, she wrote out a "prescription" for recommended products, which was very useful. The receptionists were all-business and not friendly like you would see at a smaller spa. My wait was quite long, so even with the 90 minute validation, I ended up having to pay for parking (one of my pet peeves).

Got Glow?

by sms27 at Citysearch

I visited the Murad Spa for the first time two weeks ago and my skin is still glowing!

I was recommended to the Spa by my Mother who is a regular customer. I tried the Vitamin C facial since I'm in the sun a lot and the results are amazing.

In addition, what a great staff..from the front desk to my facialist, everyone was so relaxing and friendly. And NOT pushy AT ALL (like they tend to be at other spas...)

I'm going to go back in 6 weeks for a facial...and maybe a massage!

  • Pros: Warm atmosphere and staff, GREAT facials, validated parking
  • Cons: NONE!

Health-oriented facials and body treatments make this no-frills day spa an L.A favorite.

by Contributor at Citysearch

The Scene
A bustling El Segundo business park isn't an obvious spot for a relaxing day spa, but the slick, no-nonsense exterior suits the medically slanted Murad Spa to a T-zone. Founded by famed dermatologist Dr. Howard Murad, the labyrinth of 16 gleaming treatment rooms is centered by a polished-marble lobby stocked with Murad's line of skin lotions, cleansers and age-defying concoctions.

The Services
Facials are hands-down favorites here. Estheticians work closely with Murad (whose offices are upstairs) to provide clients with specialized "skin care solutions." One of the most popular treatments is the Vitamin C Infusion Facial, a moisturizing blast for sun-damaged, dry skin. Beyond skin care, the spa specializes in massages, offering varieties such as shiatsu, Swedish and foot reflexology. Alternative methods to well-being are offered by an on-staff acupuncturist available for treatments and dietary consultations.

The Murad spa is a El Segundo's best kept secret. It is a hidden oasis, not only providing relaxation, but skilled and very knowledgeable service technicians. And what a delight the front desk staff was!!! :)
