worst customer service of any Malibu hotel.
by beachlover35
I came here in advance to check out hotels in Malibu for a family reunion. Whe I asked for 4 rooms 10 months from now which were not even on a holiday weekend and I was turned away. The lady said only 1 or 3 rooms were availible as she pretended to look through her books. How would 1 or 3 rooms be availble I asked since she couldnt tell me either way. (it seems if you were looking through a book with records you could figure that out but I guess good help is hard to find) I then said okay no problem Ill just book 2 rooms and got out my credit card. The lady then said , "I'm sorry we can't help you". I would suggest The Malibu Inn or Malibu Motel for others looking and don't have luck with this place. The cusstomer service at the other places are great and I know my family will enjoy their stay there in a few months.
- Pros: none
This surprisingly affordable beachfront getaway is cherished among travel cognoscenti.

The Scene
The two-story property sits on one of the most coveted stretches of scenic California coastline, in the heart of a prestigious beach community. Vines dangle from rooftops and balconies for an effect that's best described as "Melrose Place"-meets-Mediterranean villa. A brick patio opens up to an idyllic private beach, a perfect location for an ocean-air breakfast. With such first-class charm, it's hard to believe that a quick getaway here can cost less than a fancy dinner for two.
The Details
The charming rooms circle a palm tree-lined courtyard, some with private decks overlooking the famed Malibu surf. Recent renovations have unveiled beautiful details such as handmade Italian tiles in bathrooms. Casa Malibu's Catalina Suite is rumored to have been one of Lana Turner's favorite escapes. Other features include complimentary breakfast, coffee makers and fax-modem lines in every room, kitchens and fireplaces in some.

Walking onto the grounds of Casa Malibu, I leave all concerns behind me. Magically, I am free and peaceful in this Godsend location and inn. It's complete charm, enchantment, and beauty. It's the ultimate, in my opinion!
- Pros: location, fireplace rooms, owners
We plan on going back every year.

After spending a week working in San Diego, me and my wife and 19 month old boy stayed a couple of days at the Casa Malibu. Not only was the grounds superb, the owners were wonderful, and the staff was great. The owners were always quick to offer items to use on the beach, they were always friendly when greeting us. The rooms were wonderful. We enjoyed sleeping to the sound of the ocean. Our boy had the best time playing in the sand. We plan on going back every year.
- Pros: Rooms, Views, Court Yard
Loved it!

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. We were fortunate to get the last room (beachfront at that!) on our anniversary. (We had reservations at another place, but drove away because it was awful.) After he secured our room, my husband told the owners about our disaster. They felt bad for us, and brought over a bottle of champagne. My husband told them where we made reservations for dinner and wanted an opinion about the restaurant. They said it was nice, but it often "missed the mark." They recommended we go to Geoffrey's, and made reservations for us. Aside from the wonderful service, the beachfront room was incredible. We sipped champagne on our patio at night. We slept like babies to the sound of the ocean instead of LA traffic. In the morning, we lounged on the patio, sipping coffee and taking in the peaceful ocean view.
- Pros: excellent service, relaxing atmosphere, romantic
- Cons: tiny parking spaces
Great Experience

We left a very disappointing hotel for this superb inn. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms were immaculate, spacious and incredibly comfortable. The view was breath-taking. Don't be fooled by the "garden view" label, you're never far out of sight of the Pacific. Casa Malibu has the charm and customer focus of a B&B, but the privacy of an inn.
- Pros: Customer Focus, Stunning Views, Charming Rooms
California Dreamin'
by 1finelady
I've spent many wonderful days and nights at Casa Malibu over the years.....even when living in LA, I would slip away for a night or two at the beach..the best was at the turn of the millineum....1999-2000....barefoot, champagne in hand, watching fireworks and other revelers around the bonfires on the beach. Quite wonderful for an old gal from Oklahoma. Am really missing it
- Pros: friendly people, on the sand, nostalgic
