The largest co-op in the nation, REI sells everything needed to survive in the outdoors to members and non-members alike: sleeping bags for below-zero temperatures, GPS units, climbing gear, rations and more. For the more casual outdoor enthusiast, the store also sells tents, kayaks, bicycles, snowboards, skis, luggage, footwear and outdoors-oriented clothing for men, women and children.

Fantastic customer service!

I have a lifetime membership and bought a GPS one time. I realized I couldn't really afford both the GPS system and the maps so I had to return it. I got a full refund. REI has probably the best return policy of any store I've ever been at. Their selection is impressive, though their prices can be a bit higher than other stores. But where else can you return virtually anything and everything you buy with a minimum of hassle?

More gadgets than you'll ever need

This place is heaven for sporty geeks. Make sure you become a member so you can take advantage of the great dividend check each year. I've gotten great ski clothes, bike racks, camping equipment, and more here and have never been disappointed.

Outdoor Living Paradise

REI is a great store for purchasing items for outdoor activities - hiking, camping, rock climbing, etc... I recently purchased a large backpack here and was very pleased with their selection. The staff is very knowledgeable as well.
