Wonder "full" of Life
by trvlton at Citysearch
I would like to start by saying that Venice is not for everybody...I have traveled there for many years and been to the Cadillac here and there thru my travels...I can say without hesitation that the completed hotel renovations are AWESOME!!! This building was in need of change and they did just that....the rooms are beautiful green and blue tones...very simple and very clean....the surroundings may appear to put you off, but that is Venice...all the reasons people visit...the street performers, artist and characters are also the people that live there...they make their living doing this...the boardwalk is full of life always...it is tough to see some reviews as The Cadillac and Venice are beautiful...those who live to love...welcome
- Pros: Location and renovations
Great Price, Great Location!
by palomita04 at Citysearch
My friend and I stayed at the Cadillac on Memorial Day weekend as a girl?s getaway.
Booking was quick and easy. Tip: While renovations are taking place (rooms are done, lobby is next) the hotel is offering considerable discounts when booking. I attempted to book over an online travel site and found that the hotel was 20% less when I called the hotel directly to book.
We arrived before check in (noon) and were very happy about the location and all the nearby attractions. Unfortunately we were disappointed to see that all of the hotel parking was taken - instead we parked in front of the hotel to check in briefly and get information about parking. The gentlemen at the front desk checked us in and told us that parking was limited (to say the least - they have 6 spots) and that I would have to pay a nearby parking lot ($20 - daytime parking only) or find a spot on a nearby residential street (almost impossible). We were in for a parking search!
We got a room on the 3rd floor facing south and we had a great view of the ocean. The rooms were nicely decorated with bold colors and clean lines, new bathrooms with nice glass tile, Crabtree & Evelyn shower products, an iHome and a mini fridge. For the price and the location we couldn't have made a better choice. After unloading we drove down to Rose St. and luckily fond a tiny (but free) parking spot.
The location is really amazing. We were able to walk to Main Street and enjoy the bars and restaurants (3 blocks away) and were a very short drive (3 minute) drive to Abbott Kinney. We could not have found a better location for the price.
- Pros: Location and Price
- Cons: Parking is VERY limited, front desk was not very helpful.
Extended our stay 3 times!

My wife and I stayed here last month and changed our check out date three times. We were supposed to go on to San Diego and than Vegas but every time we were due to check out, we couldn't bring ourselves to do it. I have read some other reviews, and don't know how the place was before the rennovation but we couldn't have imagined a nicer place. The lobby still needs some work, but the rooms were beautiful. We did not have an ocean view, but could see the Pacific from our room none the less. Great atmoshphere and very clean. I can't think of any other place this nice sitting on the beach for the same price. We will be back again and again.
- Pros: Value value value! Beach breeze!
- Cons: Parking is a little crazy.
Unbelievable

I have been traveling to Venice for over 20 years and this is the first place I have found real comfort and class in the area. As much as I dig the Venice "vibe" I like to leave it behind at the end of the day. The remodel has truly turned this place into a hot joint. Flat screen t.v.s, beautiful colors, new beds, amazing! If you enjoy the art and freedom vibe of Venice and like to be ON THE BEACH, this is the place for you! Highly reccomended! As far as the staff, they are as pleasent, helpful and kicked back as they have always been.
- Pros: On the beach, new rooms, complete rennovation!
- Cons: None, but you must dig Venice.
You got to try it

I have been to Venice Beach many time but never stayed in the area until about 3 weeks ago when we had to do work on our house, my husband insisted that we stayed near the beach so we picked The Cadillac because their rate for 3 days was around $110.00 per day and in Santa Monica we were not able to find anything below the $250.00. The minute we walked into the room I told my husband that we got a great deal for this room because everything was brand new, my children loved using the iHome and watching tv on the plasma tv. The staff was friendly specially the girl that works at the front desk.
Great Remodel. Perfect Location
by denimb at Citysearch
This couldn't be a more perfect location, it's literally in the heart of Venice, on the beach and next to tons of great shops and restaurants. The remodeled rooms are great and the view is awesome. I suggested my visiting friends stay here and glad I did--close enough to take them to and from LAX and had available parking for guests. We enjoyed the beach and the venice/santa monica nightlife all weekend! It was a quick and cheap cab ride up to santa monica too so they got to see more of the beach cities. They are still remodeling so I would check on their progress before booking depending on your occasion.
USED TO BE...

This hotel was a decent place to stay when the rate was low, around $80.00. The staff were friendly people which helped make your stay pleasant. A low rate can make a simple semi maintained room on the beach an acceptable place to stay. But now the rates have jumped to 115.00 for a basic room. But nothing has changed, The renovation of the fourth floor has been going on for five months with little progress. The new staff is rude, especially this Asian gentleman who seemed to belive that his ego and self absorbed attitude came before customer service. Bring back the friendly staff, bring down the rates, and this can be a nice place to stay.
- Pros: BEACHFRONT
- Cons: CUSTOMER SERVICE, ALWAYS HOMELESS PEOPLE MAKING NOISE OUTSIDE AT NIGHT
Perfect for cash-challenged scenesters who want to be in the thick of things.

In Short
With a prime location near hip shopping and eating districts like Abbot Kinney Boulevard, the Cadillac is a real steal. This art-deco showpiece on the world-famous Venice Beach boardwalk (aka Ocean Front Walk) was refurbished a decade ago to be unabashedly noticed--it has a pink-and-turquoise facade and a gondola in the lobby. Once the summer home of silent-film legend Charlie Chaplin, this beachfront property is still occasionally haunted by a celeb or two (if you believe staffers).

This was the first time I have ever been to the west coast. I thought Cadillac hotel was great. It has a personality of it's own. Not everyone would like this place. But we did and will definatley come back next time. Staff was wonderful, View was wonderful. Location was the best. Holy cow, I am ready fo come back now!
- Pros: inexpensive, food close, entertainment close
