I went in with my ideas and let Robert fill in the blanks. He really listened to me and put my ideas down on paper. We came up with a beautiful design and his technique made it less painful. He was very friendly and made me feel very comfortable. Even though the shop is very close to the Venice boardwalk it does not have that touristy feel about it. Excellent experience from start to finish. I highly recommend this shop and will be going back for more work very very soon.
Pros: parking, staff, service, nice atmosphere, professional

I was incredibly please with this shop. My friends and I came in on a Sunday and the place was packed! There were only 2 artists working, Nick and Lucky, and 2 people up front. The staff was very energetic and very welcoming. I wasn't exactly sure of what I wanted, I just had an idea. I let the staff upfront in on my thoughts and ideas. There was no internet so the girl that was helping me went to Quiznos around and borrowed their computer to print out a few pictures for my friends and I. All 4 of us got tattooed. Nick did the 3 small ones and Lucky did my semi-big (well at least to me) tattoo along my ribs. Even though we had to wait a bit due to the fact that there were only 2 artists, I still enjoyed being there. Everyone made us feel comfortable and wanted. I would HIGHLY recommend this establishment to anyone visiting Venice Beach. I know the locals already know what's up! I took the time to find a little more information on my artist and found him on myspace.... here is his url: Check out his work and make an appointment: MySpace URL: luckytattooasylum I hope this information has made it easier for you to find a decent tattoo shop in Venice.

I got my tattoo done at Tattoo Asylum last week, and it turned out amazing. I get so many compliments already. I will definately go back for more. They have parking right in front of the store, and a bar next door, what more do I need? My friends recommended this place to me and I will recommend everyone to go there too. They really helped me with my idea and did a great job! I LOVE MY NEW TATTOO!!!!
Pros: Very convenient parking and good prices
Cons: none

The tattoo asylum was a very clean place. Daphne was extremely nice and comforting throughout the tattoo process. It was my very first tattoo and it was nice having her there to calm me down. I have to be honest and say that some of the guys that worked there were a little rude. Not sure if they were always grumpy or were just having a bad day. Daphne on the other hand, was much more pleasant to be around! The lady that runs the clothing/jewelry shop connected to the tattoo place was also very kind and entertaining.
Pros: clean, great location
Cons: grumpy workers

Hi. My name is Flo. I'm from Germany an got my tatto done about months ago by Paul. I never had any problems since and I really appreciated Paul bringing his own style to my own ideas. Thank you very much and see you next time.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone! I worked with tattoo artist Josh and got exactly what I wanted for the price I was willing to pay. All the guys who work there were so friendly and talkative. Also, my friend has been pierced by piercing-prodigy Chris numerous times and had great results consistantly. Neither of us have experienced infections or problems, and they're usual willing to bargain. Definately a 10!
