what a great place to start! by erika S. at InsiderPages

I don't consider myself an athlete, and it wasn't until I decided to do AIDS Marathon that I realized the importance of good shoes. The staff at the Starting Line took the time to evaluate my stride on the treadmill and recommend the appropriate type of shoe for me. It's a process that takes more than a few minutes and you should try on a few pairs before you make your final decision. You can also find apparel and other products such as body glide, gels, goos, shotblocks...and find out what they are for if you don't already know! I've run 2 marathons since 2004 and have bought at least 5 pairs of shoes from this store. By the way if you are running marathons you will need more than one pair if you train properly!
extremely knowledgeable and helpful!

i felt like i really got a good sense of what im purchasing before committing to buying the shoes. the salesperson (Brian) took a look at the way i walked...noticed that i tend to talk flat and that they collapse inward. had me try not just 1 pair of shoes, but 3. had me run on a treadmill they have in the store to look at how the shoes fit my feet and also to listen for the sound that my running makes as a way to see whether the shoes are right for me. had me run outside (i actually ran to the pier) to get a good sense of how the shoes felt. throughout the sale, also, told me various bits of advice on running (i'm starting to run again). an experience i'm willing to enjoy again when i buy shoes the next time.
- Pros: knowledgeable sales, attentive, thorough
Great Running Store!
by christie2000 at Citysearch
Running store where the employees are runners and make sure your fit is correct for you. I'm always picky and they don't complain. Great service! You could probably find prices $5-10 cheaper elsewhere, but it's worth it for the service. I've purchased 2 out of the last 3 shoes from this store and will go back. See if you qualify for a discount! Small amount of accessories and clothing. Shoes are the real focus here. Not certain below review was for right store. There is a beach store next door.
- Pros: Excellent Help, Employees know their, stuff!
- Cons: A bit pricey.
get your bech gear here

hide your credit card for some not-so-great deals at above market prices; the selection of beach gear is reflective of many desingers and local wahoos who are charging too much.
- Pros: expensive, bad color selection
