Where oh where did my killer Shrimp go?

by SHAUNYBOO at Citysearch

I am super duper upset, I need my Killer Shrimp fix. Nothing can compare. I had to have a seat when I got upstairs and found Aunt Kizzy's. I was in shock. Is there anything I can do to help Killer come back, we need it. Wowww!!!

  • Pros: None like it
  • Cons: Closed too early

Killer Shrimp Recipe, I have it.

by Valerina69 at Citysearch

If anyone is interested, I found this recipe online about 6 years ago, and it tastes exactly like the real deal!We make a bunch of the sauce, then freeze it for future cravings!

INGREDIENTS:

2 TBLS fresh or dried rosemary,

2 Tsps thyme,

1 Tsp black pepper,

2 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped,

1/2 tsp fennel seed,

1 tsp celery seed,

1 tsp crushed red peper flakes,

2 qts. clam broth (you can use chicken broth if making Killer Chicken),

3 ozs. tomato paste,

1 stick salted butter,

shrimp (duh!),

french bread.

Preparation: Using a mortal and pestle (a meat tenderizer and a plastic bag works too), partially grind the rosemary, thyme and fennel seeds. Break up the spices, rather than grinding them. Mix all of the ingredients into a cooking pan (except the shrimp) and simmer for an hour but up to 2 hours (longer the better). Just before serving, add the raw, peeled and deveined shrimp( you can leave the shells on if you prefer). Simmer for about another 2 minutes in order to cook the shrimp. Once completed, serve in a giant bowl and some cut up nice soft french bread. I assure you, your craving for KILLER SHRIMP, will be satisfied!

Where is Killer Shrimp! My craving wont go away...

by Vero1111 at Citysearch

I love Killer Shrimp..the sauce is so tasty. Since the dish is so huge, I always brought home left over. I would have killer shrimp with my breakfast, lunch and dinner. I was so upset to find Killer Shrimp in Studio City closed. So, I decided to make a trip to the marina's until another friend of mine, who's also a fan of Killer Shrimp, mention it was closed. Where can I find killer shrimp? There is no other dish like Killer Shrimp.....Is there a recipe? Help I can't stop thinkin of Killer Shrimp....

  • Pros: Very tasty
  • Cons: spicey....sometimes need the tums...but worth it

Lee Michaels!!!

by James54Conner at Citysearch

Lee Michaels I hear started this chain of Restaurants! I haven't ate there but definitely will next visit to LA. I'll expect a delicious dinner and pray I get to meet Mr. Michaels and thank him for some of the greatest music in the world ever produced. The saddest part was when he stopped. First I read he was sick of the Music business and retired in Hawaii, now I hear hes in LA running Killer Shrimp?

Lee! Come on! Just one more for your Fans, get ole Frosty and hammer those keys. No one seems to know what turned you off to the business so bad but your Fans loved you and will never forget you. If your sales weren't great that's only due to minimal exposure on the radio, you had 4 albums out before I heard of you. Ive never seen one Man producing so much intense music as you sitting behind the keyboards with a deep bass and harmonizing voice. That was front row in 1978 in Anaheim, CA. You had every muscle in your body non-stop producing the most fabulous sound heard by man. Everyone was in awe with mouth open singing. smiling or, just in awe! Come back Lee-Please-just one more.

Best Shrimp soup and bread!!

by melopez63 at Citysearch

I used to make a minimum of one visit per month to one of the Killer shrimp place, more commonly to the Marina Del Rey location, my favorite version, the orginal soup style! I changed jobs and i have been away for 6-7 months and I finally get to go out there last weekend and it was a shock to find out that both places have closed!

Where I am going to get such good soup now? Any suggeestions?
