With its kid-friendly vibe, booth seating and late-night hours (most stores are open 24 hours), Denny's draws night owls, seniors and families with kids. The menu sticks to classic American staples: wings, chicken strips, burgers, salads and the like. But breakfast is king, with specialties ranging from skillets, egg scrambles, French toast platters and several variations on the famous Grand Slam: two buttermilk pancakes, two eggs, two bacon strips and two sausage links.

Downtown's late-night Denny's

The more refined atmosphere of this newly remodeled Denny's helps soften the imposing nature of the surrounding neighborhood (surrounded by a hulking City facility, the always-busy 101 freeway, and Union Station). While not in the midst of the Downtown LA nightlife, this is the only Downtown Denny's open 24 hours a day. Its proximity to Union Station makes it one of the only places to grab a cheap full meal while waiting for your train. On sunny days, enjoy their open-air patio.
