Incredibly relaxing and romantic!

My boyfriend and I are LA locals and were looking to "get away" without having to spend the money on travel. We rented the deluxe room with a giant whirlpool bathtub for two, fireplace, and beautiful four-poster bed. The room was so beautiful and romantic! We were treated like family by the staff who provided a great wine and hours d'ouvres happy hour and a wonderful breakfast. Although not directly on the beach, the B and B is about a block from it. We had such a wonderful time that we vowed to come back at least once a year. If you want a relaxing and romantic getaway, this is the place to go!
- Pros: Excellent staff, amazing whirlpool bathtubs in some rooms
- Cons: A little pricier than I would have liked
Great location - noisy rooms

The design is charming and the location is great. The staff went above and beyond the call of duty. However, the only reason I would not return is because my husband and I were awakened by our next door neighbors (talking and coughing throughout the night). I asked if there were any rooms that didn't border others, and if I recall correctly, there is one but it borders the laundry room, which gets used as early as 8 a.m.
- Pros: location
- Cons: thin room walls
This elegant seaside bed-and-breakfast offers a romantic detour through the past.

The Scene
When owner Susan Zolla came upon this rare 1910 Colonial Revival property, it had stood derelict for 12 years. The two entrepreneurs fully restored the three-story house and opened it to guests in 1988. There are 14 rooms, including one suite.
The Details
The big blue house is replete with details meant to transport guests to an early 1900s Santa Monica home. High-backed rocking chairs grace the front porch, and inside, the main floor rooms are quaintly appointed with antiques, wicker and delicate linens. While you might feel pressured to mingle at smaller B&Bs, this place is big enough for those seeking solitude in quiet corners. Each day the inn offers a full breakfast buffet with items like apple French toast and egg soufflés. There's also afternoon tea and cookies, and evening wine and cheese. Before turning in, take a soak in the private garden hot tub.
Cute but pricey

We had our relatives stay here and they seemed to like it- The rooms are very Ralph Lauren- There is NO view to the ocean however which was a BIg disappointment. It is convenioent if you want to be in SM Cayon
