Healthy and Totally Tasty!
by Grammercy1248 at Citysearch
So I went to CCC the other day because a lot of my friends told me that I need to eat there. I'm new to LA so when I walked up and saw about 100 people in line, I was going to die.
BUT, after eating their Caesar Salad, I have to say, you MUST eat there if you're on the West Side. The pita chips are amazing and the salad wasn't overly dressed, which I hate. 5 stars for this tasty treat!
- Pros: Awesome Pita Chips, Fast service
- Cons: Chicken is kind of bland, LOTS of people
Citysearch Editorial Review

During the day, this outpost of the local California Chicken Cafe chain draws the business lunch crowd, but come evening everyone from neighborhood families to police officers line up for the affordable fowl fare. Patrons place orders at the register and wait for the signature rotisserie chicken and Chinese chicken salad as well as sides like spicy red potatoes. The menu also offers fresh wrap sandwiches, including a popular vegetarian pita stuffed with rice, vegetables and ranch dressing ... who knew such great vegetarian grub could be had at a chicken cafe?
Great place for a quick bite of great food!

One of the best chicken dinners you'll ever have. Healthy, casual and great food will keep you coming back for more.
And try the roasted potatoes and butternut square. They're great!
- Pros: Great chicken, great sides!
- Cons: No steamed veggies side dish
Yum, Yum, Yum... and healthy!

I would not be complete without California Chicken Cafe! It is an excellent option for lunch or dinner that is easy and healthy. I highly recommend the Asian Chicken Salad, as I almost get it everyime I go. It is a large portion as well, so I generally share it with my boyfriend. I take out all the time, enjoy!!!
- Pros: Delicious, affordable, quick, healthy
- Cons: Not the best "in-dining" as its loud
Excellent for fast food

Big rush descends on the place for lunch and there's limited seating, but it turns over quickly.
Meals here are a lot like eating at Whole Foods a couple blocks away. It is possible to sit close to the rotisserie, which takes a bit off the fast food experience. All in all, chicken is good, and sides/salad bar is good (not great, but reliably good). Convenient for carry out, if you walk over or get lucky in their tiny guarded back pkg lot.
- Pros: Quick carry out - reasonable reliable chicken and salads
- Cons: Miniscule pkg lot in back -- try to park on street
Healthy, Good Food. Bad Service LOUD atmosphere
by krkeegan at Citysearch
I have been to this chain at other locations.
Food - I like the food but I can agree with some of the other comments that most items are very similar.
Service - Just ok, the staff is not outwardly rude, but they are not necessarily courteous or outgoing either.
Setting - REALLY LOUD. I went during lunch and the noise inside was almost unbearable. I couldn't even talk across the table. I think it is made worse by the design of the place(flat walls, tiled floors, hard ceiling).
Crowd - A lot of stroller moms mixing with some local people who work in the area.
- Pros: Healthy Food
- Cons: Loud at Lunchtime
Chicken lovers love this place
by marpop at Citysearch
The food is good, but you will be eating chicken - as you'd expect. The menu is not that varied. When I come here I either get the chinese chicken salad or the chicken wrap (their specialty). The food gets made fast, so it's basically fast food, but it's fresh and healthy. The problem for me is, I don't like to eat that much chicken, so I haven't been here in a while. But, when you are in the area and need to grab a quick lunch alone or with a friend, you have to consider California Chicken - you can seat yourself, serve your own drinks from the fountain, and get in and out for under or around ten bucks.
- Pros: price, quality
- Cons: parking
I LOVE THIS PLACE!
by jolie714 at Citysearch
I found myself getting offended when people are saying that the staff is rude and the food is bad. I LOVE this place! I go to eat dinner here at least once a week. They have a great selection of salads and great seasoned chicken. My favorite is the chinese chicken salad, mmmmMMMmmmm, beware, it is a big portion so I usually share. The staff has always been SUPER nice to me... probably because I'm SUPER nice to THEM. What I noticed about this area is, people are grumpy and MEAN. YOU'RE probably rude so that's why people are rude to YOU. Whenever they bring the food out to me, I always give them a few dollars as a tip. I find it very sad that people eat, then leave their plates there, and walk away... you should at least tip them $1.00.... those are just my thoughts. Also, it's very healthy!
- Pros: Healthy good food, great quick dinner/lunch
- Cons: Parking is limited.
VERY BAD - STAY AWAY!
by zais22 at Citysearch
I was very excited to go here for the first time after reading some of the old reviews. I ordered chicken and thought it was not so good and definitely not worth ever having again. I then decided to go back a second time to try something else and it was a mess.
First off, I do not know where the staff can get away with being so arrogant and rude. If the staff was the only problem, I'd be ok and would just move on. But unfortunately, the food was much MUCH poorer. I got a wrap this time with chicken. It was a JOKE! There was just a little bit of lettuce wrapped in a tortilla. I still do not think I saw any chicken. So, the meal was a huge dissapointment.
After that meal, I began talking to other people about this establishment and learned that the discontent is not just mine. I began hearing stories about illnesses after eating there, random creepy crawlies hidden in the lettuce, and many other big problems that people encountered with the staff and management.
I heard that back when they first opened they were supposed to be decent but now that they are popping up everywhere, quality and care has simply gone away. Typical story, restaurants expand to quickly and the rest is history. Too bad.
So, after my dissapointing times and the subsequent horror stories, I will stay away and strongly recommend you do too. There are so many other great, bug-free options that actually give you what you pay for.
- Pros: Convenient
- Cons: Food, service, health concerns
Healthy Lunch, Rude Service
by aewlsn at Citysearch
Great healthy lunch. Quick. However, the staff is quite rude. Get there early to avoid lines.
