Balcony rooms are the BOMB!!

by psboston7

Thomas Jefferson (my boyfriend) and I stayed here back in February for one night on a Friday. So when we arrived there was about 3 (what looked like to me) bellman... but funny thing is NONE OF THEM assisted me with my luggage (maybe they were valet???) even when I made a point to STRUGGLE with the luggage they still stood up where the stairs were with the luggage cart =/ okay WHATEVER on to more pleasant musings :)

We were fortunate to get a beautiful room with a balcony facing the Ocean on a high floor it was a gorgeous view had 2 lounge chairs for us to kick back with our own cocktails, wine and cheese. Nice comfortable bed, beddings etc. Decor felt Cape Cod like to me.

After we checked in we got a bite to eat at the Lobby Bar was served out at the Pool area. Nice pool area this is a very chic looking property. Very hip feel during Happy Hour. So the next morning we went down to partake of the Complimentary Continental Breakfast - since we were on the Club level and the literature read that Complimentary Breakfast was offered at certain times and where to go. So you could imagine my surprise (after verifying this with the Front Desk before coming down stairs) I was given dirty looks in the Restaurant where breakfast was served. We got our items and asked the server for some item (can't recall now) anyhoo he proceeds to tell me what the charges are and sort of rudely proceeds to argue with me about information I had received from someone at the Front Desk!!!!

I immediately get up went to our room started packing my shyt to get the "F" OUT OF THIS PIECE OF CRAP HOTEL that doesn't know how to treat a guest... but before I do I speak with the Front Desk Manager to complain about my treatment they comp my parking charges and room service order from the previous night.

Does this smooth over the rough treatment of that @$$hole in the restaurant NO! because after 20+ years in this Industry I KNOW BETTER.

All that aside the hotel is gorgeous, the rooms are nice, the public areas were clean and the Front Desk staff was BEYOND pleasant and courteous. Pool was small but adequate it was a shame about the experience but that was mine... don't let my mishandling stop you give them a try. I think most won't be dissapointed.

Best Event Location... Ever!

by A Mo

I recently got married at the Sheraton Delfina, and the hotel surpassed every on of my expectations. The staff bent over backwards to make sure that the wedding went smoothly, the food was fantastic, and the room (the entire top floor) was amazing.

We definitely lucked out finding this little-known gem in Santa Monica.

Great vibe!

by linds76

I stayed here with my girlfriends to do some holiday shopping. It was fantastic. The front desk arranged for the G.E.M. car to drop us off at Main Street and offered to pick us back up when we are ready. The room we stayed in was beautiful! We had the most amazing views of the Santa Monica mountains. The room were nicely decorated in blues and the marble bathroom was very inviting! The best part of the hotel was the chic lobby area. My girlfriends and I had wine and chatted away. Definitely would recommend!

The WORST hotel experience I've ever had!!

by bettyo70

I booked a specific suite in this hotel and even called a few days before arriving to confirm that this suite was reserved. I arrive the day of our reservation to find that suite HAD BEEN GIVEN TO SOMEONE ELSE. No one from this hotel even had the guts to call me to tell me the bad news!

We had to wait hours to find a replacement room. The one they gave us instead was just DEPRESSING!

Oh, and the keys they gave us did not work either. Horrible management. Poor customer service. Just heard that the hotel is having labor issues too. For your own sanity, STAY AWAY!!

Nice renovated hotel

by jval36

The rooms are great- big, quite and nice bed. The hotel underwent remodeling and it pays off. Really nice decor and nice location in Santa Monica. Not on the beach but a short walk away from beach, shopping and restaurants. The pool was really nice and surprisingly, the food was amazing.

A pleasant business-oriented hotel offering ocean views.

by Contributor

The Scene
This business-class hotel is tucked into the desirable Ocean Park neighborhood, a residential enclave of vintage beach houses set above funky Main Street overlooking the Pacific. This reliable property makes up for its simplicity with a helpful staff and a superb ocean setting, not to mention its proximity to the Santa Monica Pier, shopping and more

The Details
Just four blocks from the beach, the recently redesigned guest rooms offer deluxe business amenities and large private terraces that resemble stair steps traveling down the whitewashed side of the building. West-facing terraces overlook the neighborhood down to the water. A selection of standard business amenities ranges from meeting rooms to a business center. There is a restaurant and bar, and the rooftop ballroom offers ocean views.

Location sucks

by starman

Nice hotel for a mid-range, except the location is one block from where the winos congregate at the corner of Pico and Lincoln. And, the location across from the school is boring, and there is nothing nice in that little neighborhood. I was embarassed to bring my family past the derilects to enjoy a hamburger at Tommy's. Probably worth more to be closer to the beach.

  • Pros: Nice enough staff
  • Cons: English-challenged, Location
