Great vibe!

I stayed here with my girlfriends to do some holiday shopping. It was fantastic. The front desk arranged for the G.E.M. car to drop us off at Main Street and offered to pick us back up when we are ready. The room we stayed in was beautiful! We had the most amazing views of the Santa Monica mountains. The room were nicely decorated in blues and the marble bathroom was very inviting! The best part of the hotel was the chic lobby area. My girlfriends and I had wine and chatted away. Definitely would recommend!
The WORST hotel experience I've ever had!!

I booked a specific suite in this hotel and even called a few days before arriving to confirm that this suite was reserved. I arrive the day of our reservation to find that suite HAD BEEN GIVEN TO SOMEONE ELSE. No one from this hotel even had the guts to call me to tell me the bad news!
We had to wait hours to find a replacement room. The one they gave us instead was just DEPRESSING!
Oh, and the keys they gave us did not work either. Horrible management. Poor customer service. Just heard that the hotel is having labor issues too. For your own sanity, STAY AWAY!!
Nice renovated hotel

The rooms are great- big, quite and nice bed. The hotel underwent remodeling and it pays off. Really nice decor and nice location in Santa Monica. Not on the beach but a short walk away from beach, shopping and restaurants. The pool was really nice and surprisingly, the food was amazing.

Causal bistro serves up small plates like chicken quesadilla with goat cheese, tiger prawn cocktails and daily quiche specials.
A pleasant business-oriented hotel offering ocean views.

The Scene
This business-class hotel is tucked into the desirable Ocean Park neighborhood, a residential enclave of vintage beach houses set above funky Main Street overlooking the Pacific. This reliable property makes up for its simplicity with a helpful staff and a superb ocean setting, not to mention its proximity to the Santa Monica Pier, shopping and more
The Details
Just four blocks from the beach, the recently redesigned guest rooms offer deluxe business amenities and large private terraces that resemble stair steps traveling down the whitewashed side of the building. West-facing terraces overlook the neighborhood down to the water. A selection of standard business amenities ranges from meeting rooms to a business center. There is a restaurant and bar, and the rooftop ballroom offers ocean views.
Location sucks
by starman at Citysearch
Nice hotel for a mid-range, except the location is one block from where the winos congregate at the corner of Pico and Lincoln. And, the location across from the school is boring, and there is nothing nice in that little neighborhood. I was embarassed to bring my family past the derilects to enjoy a hamburger at Tommy's. Probably worth more to be closer to the beach.
- Pros: Nice enough staff
- Cons: English-challenged, Location
