This quirky Westside gallery has a relaxed atmosphere.

The Scene
Situated at the northern end of Main Street in Santa Monica, across the street from a community garden lot, this one-story space is (not surprisingly, considering its beachy neighborhood) suffused with a relaxed vibe. The folks tending to the art are friendly, informative and not overly intrusive, allowing passers-by as well as connoisseurs to appreciate the work on display.

The Goods
Angles represents a dozen artists, from California and beyond, who produce work that is more thought-provoking than decorative. Any and all form will do, and the gallery has featured drawings, paintings, sculpture, mixed media and conceptual pieces. A recent "Works on Paper" show, for example, featured a wry collage by David Bunn titled "Penis & Testicles," in which the artist created found poetry from discarded library cards.
