Portions!
by Michael Fran
Just moved back downtown and can't frankly believe I'd never stopped inside. Service was great. Split the chicken teriyaki, the chicken katsu and the gyoza with a friend. The large plates came with miso soup, salad with ginger dressing and macaroni. Everything was good and the pitchers of beer are cheap. Best part is it's open late night. Little Tokyo FTW.
- Pros: Chicken Teriyaki
- Cons: Parking
Ramen or bust!
by tashasha01
I've never gone to Koraku for any other reason except the ramen...mmmm. With plenty of options, and noodles that taste fresh and home-made, this spot is unbeatable. It can get smokey in there and you're definitely leaving with a bit of flavor on your clothing - but it's well worth the inconvenience.
- Pros: Wide variety of Japanese food
- Cons: Parking can be tricky
Late Night Eats
by nomis
I've eaten here a few time for lunch and dinner, but Koraku is great after bar/club too. The food is not the greatest, but it cetainly is not bad at all. Great value. It's still pretty happening everytime I come here on a Fri. or Sat. night. Everybody is just having a good time and chowing down on some tasty chinese/japanese food. Yokohama baby!
- Pros: Tasty. Open Late. Cheap.
An alternative to Chinese.

If you're having "too much" Chinese food, "but still" want something similar, then you've got to come here! The menu's got a pretty good choice to choose from. It's a good filler for lunch or dinner and still leave you enough cash for sushi down the street.
- Pros: Food, Value, Open Late
Come to Koraku for the curry. . .
by sestinatim
For a taste of authentic Japan, Koraku can not be beat! More than just a noodle or curry house, the menu offers everything from traditional Sukiyaki and Ramen to Terriyaki and delectable Katsu (pork cutlet). The emphasis is on what would be found at a traditional Japanese diner or lunch counter, so don't look here for sushi. Instead, expect huge servings of favorites like Yakiniku (stir fried beef), Pork Shoga Yaki (ginger pork), and quite possibly the best gyoza (potstickers) on the planet! Prices are very reasonable with most items less than 8 dollars, and the service is exceptionally fast, although you may want an interpreter. All meals come with miso and rice except noodle soups.
Recommended favorites: Nikudango (terriyaki meatballs) and Out-of-this-world Curry!! Try the Chicken Katsu Curry; people who know, come to Koraku for the curry!
- Pros: Inexpensive, authentic cuisine, fast service
- Cons: limited parking, small tables, often a wait
