The barbecue sauce at this SoCal institution makes for a tasty--and messy--experience for grown-ups and children alike.

Dubbed "home of the live wood fire," this small family restaurant chain was started in 1940 in the city of Lynwood. Families, groups and hungry locals dine amid the dark wood benches and occasional bits of sawdust on the floor. The meaty menu includes entrees such as steak, chicken, and slabs of ribs slathered in a thick, rich sauce. There are also sandwiches, shrimp dishes, spaghetti and a handful of sides like baked potato and sweet barbecue beans.

if you've never been here, you're missing out. at one time, i hated bbq anything! but then, for some reason, i was craving bbq and i tried chris n pitts recommended by dad and bro... and man, oh man, this is MY place for bbq ribs, spaghetti and um, everything else on the menu. my favorite is the hawaiian bbq ribs, spaghetti with meat sauce and the salad with BLEU cheese dressing!!! This dressing is the best I've ever tasted (besides the one i make).. It's so stinky, it's GOOD.
i've never eaten in the restaurant cause i always order take out.. and it's convenient cause you don't have to go inside (there's an outside window for pick up). Parking isn't great cause it fills up quickly (but there's extra parking across the street) and it can get crowded inside..
The service is a-OK; girls working there are nice once u get to know em. I highly recommend this place for good eats!!
- Pros: FOOD FOOD FOOD!!
- Cons: parking
