The first time I was here was for a friend's Big Fat Greek wedding reception. Authentic greek food! They have the most delicious roasted meats. The weekends include live entertainment and plate breaking. It's a fun atmosphere.

This Greek restaurant is family owned and run. They have been in business a long time and I hear they may be closing. The food is very good but the atmosphere is what's so wonderful. They have belly dancers and break plates for entertainment. Oopah!

A very lively place, friendly and attentive staff. Good selection on the menu and reasonable prices. Too much 'SC memorabilia for my taste (a true blue Bruin), but worth the stop if you happen to be in San Pedro.

Where else does a Greek man greet you with kisses and speaks of you as if you're the hottest woman in the world!?!!? Love it-- Great place for anytime--especially birthdays! The food is really good and the vibe is as if you are hanging out in their very Greek living room while they entertain you as if you're family! Very cool. They love USC (Go Trojans if you are one), and they love all that come to their restaurant.

Papadakis Taverna is not a place where you just casually go in and grab a bite to eat. This restaurant takes about two hours for the entire experience. Not only do you get a few courses: salad, soup, bread, drinks, entree, dessert, but there's live entertainment all night. The owner is very personable and addresses the crowd all night. There was also a belly dancer, a singer and a tap dancer the night we went. Also, the food is excellent.
Very Overrated.. This is a two at best.

I have been to some fine Greek places, this is not one of them.
I took my family for my dad's 90th birthday. Not one of the 25 people we had with us liked it our would go again.
Worst Experience Ever

This was the worst restaurant experience my husband and I have ever had. The food was ok. We waited about 10 minutes inbetween finishing our dinner and receiving our check. Than they insisted we stay for "entertainment" and would not allow us to leave our seats. A belly dancer came out and they physically pushed my husband's chair in front of her and made him put dollar bills in her underwear. We have never been so uncomfortable in a restaurant. After the "dancing" finished, we again tried to leave and the restaurant owner announced to the entire room that we needed to stay and forced us to sit through the remaining singing and tap dancing acts. Needless to say - I was livid. I DO NOT recommend this restaurant - the service was slow at times, the waiter spilled pepper and than wine onto our table and again - it was a disgraceful show. If you go there - good luck =P
- Pros: Food was ok
- Cons: Service was bad, entertainment was worse, management was rude and pushy
Singing, dancing and dish-smashing are the norm at this Greek taverna.

In Short
The brothers Papadakis have a song for every occasion, and even hardened cynics can't help but clap along as waiters and glittery-outfitted belly dancers whirl around the room. The kitchen serves imported meats and cheeses prepared in traditional Greek style. Also on the menu: saganaki, an appetizer of flaming cheese, and entrees like chicken souvlaki. Traditional baklava is a sweet finish.

I went for the first time last night and just finished my arni alla Papadakis for lunch today. GREAT service, we had Angel Papadakis, with her father and uncle both coming to chat now and then, DELICIOUS food (I had 5 courses), and the "Blood of Hercules" wine is incredible. I loved the entertainment.
