Holy Souvlaki!

If you like great, home made, authentic greek food, this is the place for you!

Our entrees took a little long (probably because the place was PACKED) and we ended up getting a ticket for our expired meter. But even this could not detract from the awesome food!

George himself greeted us and made us feel like we were part of the family. We loved this place! We only tried them for lunch, but noticed they have half price wine on Monday nights.

• Pros: Mouth watering food, great service
• Cons: Not for quick lunch needs

Great food, great service. I've been there several times and never disappointed. They're open a bit later than many places too (in traditional Greek fashion!) so that's a plus :)

Great move on Pine!

I always visit this greek restaurant, but it got better, they move accross the street from Cafe Sevilla (a pearl) on Pine. Same folks, great food as usual, pine is now the ethnic destination for downtown Long Beach. large outdoor patio give the place a very unique feel.

Great food, great service, great time!

All I can say is that you must try the Gyro's. They are to die for. Adequate service for finding a seat during a lunch rush, and they also offer alchohol. I've ate here a few times with co-workers, and have no complaints. Only peeve I have is their bathroom is a little dirty and can use some adjustments and clean up. Other than that, anyone will enjoy their experience here.

• Cons: Small/dirty bathroom.

george's is so good. the greek salad is just what you want when you want a greek salad. they have really good falafal(sorry about the spelling) sandwiches. all of the sandwiches come with rice, salad or fries(or, if you ask really nicely, they're give you a little salad and some fries. do that). they have a good deal on wine, i think on mondays. they also opened up another one on 2nd st. i like the one on 2nd better because sometimes there's this woman who works at the one on pine that makes you finish your food no matter what. it's like having a greek grandma watching over you.

When you're here, you're Family

From the tendency to get friendly greetings from the owner at the door, to the service by the efficient and friendly family members and other employees of this restaurant, to the delicious food and homey atmosphere, you feel well taken care of when you are at George's. I have been there many times at mid-day on a Saturday for lunch, and also at night on Saturdays, when a delightful serving of music (and belly-dancing if you're there at the right time) is served up. If you're in town, don't miss this place, but don't bring too many friends. I still want to have room for my wife and I. Enjoy!

This is my FAVORITE resturant! The staff is so warm and fun and they make you feel like you are dining with family. Everyone should experience George and his friendly smile and hugs!

The food here is wonderful! And you are always greeted with a smile and handshake (perhaps a hug). One of the best cafes in Long Beach. I am always satisfied.

I highly suggest it.

Awesome Falafels!

George's has the best falafel I've ever tasted! Great friendly and fast service; they made my order special b/c I am vegan. The fries are quite tasty too! I don't live closeby but I'm definitely going back there. Street metered parking can be difficult (esp. on the weekends) but they validate for 2 hours in the public parking lots.

Gyros Sandwiches YES

We both had the same thing for lunch, a large greek salad and a Gyros Sandwich. It is so hard to get a real Gyros in America. Most restaurants serve some sort of sliced processed loaf but a Georges you get the real deal with a LOT of meat!. The other tables looked like they had great dishes but we are going back for the Gyros.
