Beware of Racist Receptionist
Contributor at Insider Pages
After consistently having Taylor cut my hair and keep me looking fabulous for over 18years I lost out on my appointment because of a rude, racist receptionist. I am a woman of color with professional degrees and a professional career. The receptionist on the morning of 1/5/08 was snooty, dismissive and worse, bigoted. I know when I'm being treated like the maid. There was a mix up because I switched appointments with my husband. At no time did the receptionist apologize, suggest another appointment, etc.I hope the owners read this she should be fired or the salon should cease to offer services to people of color; funny all of our money is the same color...I'm sad, Taylor is great but I don't know that I'll return.
Love this salon - Fun Vibe and Great Service

I have been a client at ECCO for nearly a year and it's time to share my enthusiasm. Robert does my color and cut, and evert time I leave it looks and feels great. Today it dawned on me what an eclectic and diverse salon it is - something for everyone. All hair types were being catered too in the festive atmosphere. I surely do not miss my former "old lady" salon. The vibe is great and everything feels more chic and hip. I have tried several stylists there and have been please by the blowouts. I have even taken each of my three kids in for a great cut for special occasions. Stephen, one of the co-owners is always so welcoming, and I appreciate that each time I am in. Go try out ECCO - you'll love it! Plus - they seem to stay running on time. Once they actually called to say they were 15 minutes behind - who does that?!
Karina does a great job

Ecco was recommended by a friend, and I have enjoyed every trip here. I went to Karina for foil highlights and a cut on more than one occasion. She is Vidal Sassoon trained, but charges less than others with similar training as she's still building her business. Of course it's still not cheap: about $150, but she does do a good job and does what I ask! Not many stylists listen as well! The salon experience is great: it's bustling and friendly, not stuck up at all. I have moved and the salon is too out of my way now, but I would recommend it to anyone in the Pasadena area for a quality job and a great experience.
- Pros: Free parking lot next door, great quality, enjoyable experience
- Cons: Not a great value, they only do hair so you can't get your nails done in the same visit
Didn't like the place.

Go to a professional salon with a solid reputation instead. Bad haircut. Took months to grow out. A friend had a bleach job where her hair almost fell out. It was really bad.
- Pros: parking
- Cons: Staff not friendly & ambience
