Stayed with many Starwoods and this Westin is lower on the rungs. Rooms are tight. Service is as well. Was put on the Starwoods 'preferred' floor that looked exactly like every other floor. Stayed from a Thursday to Monday. Asked for a different room but was told the place was booked - yet the parking downstairs was ample and the common areas vacant. I've clocked a lot of time with Starwoods... Hate being lied to.
- Pros: clean, centrally located
- Cons: service, rooms small
Distinctive digs with modern amenities and beds so heavenly they're hard to roll out of.

In Short
With programs designed for both business travelers and families, this property takes service seriously. Business travelers can take advantage of guest office rooms stocked with phone, fax and printer. For families, a kids' club provides coloring books, bath toys and a phone line dedicated to bedtime stories. All visitors are treated to signature Heavenly Beds with pillow-top mattresses, cushy down blankets and crisp white sheets ranging in thread count from 180 to 250.

Great Getaway

Impressive Hotel and grounds. The Spa and Fitness center with outdoor pool and sauna overlooking historic city hall is amazing. They offer complimentary town car transportation to all area attractions and are within walking distance to Pasadenas great theatre district, Old Town and 1/2 block from the all new Paseo Colorado. This is truely a great place to getaway and relax. I highly reccommend
- Pros: Complimentary Town ca, Professional Concierg, Spa and Fitness Cente
- Cons: pricey but worth it, Parking
Nicer than Most

Made famous when a bus crashed into the side of it and was shown on national TV, the Doubletree is probably the nicest place to say in Pasadena, after the Ritz-Carlton -- and it's much closer to Old Town, which is probably where most people will want to hang out anyway. Good food right in the complex, with California Pizza Kitchen and McCormick & Schmick's right next door.
great cookies!

Great location. Great service. And, as always, great cookies. This hotel has an excellent work out facility and is close to Old Town. Good hotel for business travellers.

A really lovely hotel -- spectacular, over-the-top decor and possibly the world's most extravagant breakfast buffet
