First of all, I’ve read the reviews below and it’s hard to believe that we’ve gone to the same place!! The customer service that I experienced from the very first contact has been top notch. I phoned them up on my lunch break one day w/ a message prepared because I was almost certain the office was going to be closed for lunch, but to my surprise a cheery young lady picked up the phone. I needed an appointment ASAP and the young lady was able to fit me in for that same afternoon!! I got to the office and to be honest w/ you I had no clue what type of insurance coverage I had & they were able to figure everything out for me effortlessly. Before I knew it, I was already seeing the Doctor and what a great guy he is. He was very professional and extremely knowledgeable about his field. Plus the technology he is working with is just incredible. It made for on of the best eye exams I have ever had. I was interested in contact lenses and he tried a couple of different pairs in the office for me & let me take a pair home to try for week while he ordered a new pair that might be more suitable. I also ordered a pair of glasses there too, It was so hard to choose they have a really great selection I was able to narrow it down to a great rimless pair thanks to the optician. In a week I returned for my follow up and tried out the new contacts that the doc had ordered they were a perfect fit. Also on that same day I picked up my rimless pair of glasses and I am completely happy with them. I was afraid they were going to be a little hard to get accustomed to because I had decided to move on to a lens without the bifocal but they were great & they look 10x better without that ugly line from the bifocal. I also got transitions on them you know the kind that turn dark once you step outside! I haven’t taken them off since! I really enjoyed the service and have recommended them to almost everyone I know.

After years of going here, you would think I wouldn't be shocked, but I am forever shocked and frustrated by the staff in this office. Literally, every time I go there, something goes wrong. I've been a patient there for years, and recently, they couldn't find my chart for 20 minutes. Previously, I was to see the Dr. in the San Marino office, and they didn't send my chart there. This was astonishing, as I stood in the Pasadena office and watched the Dr. ask one of the staff to have it sent over for an afternoon appointment. Never happened. Another time I went to pick up my contacts, and they couldn't find them or my file. It's truly a reality show. But a very frustrating one. They never get the charges right either, so check with VSP and know your benefits because the staff is clueless. I agree, Dr. Nicholson is great. But how great can he be, knowing this has been going on for years, and he still continues to hire young, pretty girls with no experience or ability to handle the smallest tasks that require very little brain power. Truly, a reality show.

Pros: Dr. Nicholson is smart and knows his stuff

Cons: Lamest office staff I've ever encountered

I agree with the other review. Dr. Nicholson is friendly. But if anything goes wrong, the staff takes FOREVER to do anything. They didn't call me when my contacts arrived. When I called they kept telling me that the contacts weren't ready even when they were (I'm not even sure they checked). I'm not sure that a kind of nice optometrist balances out the inefficiency and seemingly lazy attitude of the staff

My entire family has been going to Dr. Nicholson for about five years now. We absolutely love Dr. Nicholson. He is very informative and great with children. Yes, his staff is very friendly until you need their help, that's when you'll discover that they are extremely inefficient. My son needed to have his glasses repaired and they have literally taken over a month to get them fixed. I was once even told that they were ready and went to pick them up only to find them in the same broken condition they were in when I dropped them off! They don't even explain what is going on with the glasses they just keep giving me excuses about how they're short staffed. The office staff are very disorganized and unapologetic about their horrible service. I would recommend Dr. at another location maybe.

Pros: Dr. very informative., Great with Kids., Very Clean

Cons: Incompetent staff., Office disorganized, Staff not helpful

I've been going to V-One for almost 10yrs. Dr. Nicolson carries the best selection of swedish hipster frames. His long time asst. Yvette is the best tech around. They are fair in price, honest and sincerely cool people. Can't say enough - love 'em!

The Dr. and staff are nice but they just can't seem to get it right. On more than one occassion they completely forgot to place my contact lense order. This place is desperately in need of some organization.

I've been going to Dr. Nicholson's for over five years now. His business is clean and professional and he and his staff are always pleasant and very likeable. With every visit he informs me of all of the latest technology and products for contact lenses and surgical procedures in a truly helpful way... he is not a salesman... just wants you to have great vision. Highly recommended!

Pros: Punctual, Pleasant, Professional

Cons: Parking for building

A doctor who runs on time if you can believe it! Friendly and helpful staff. Appointments are quick and painless. Great selection of frames. Staff is super friendly.
