My boyfriend and I go to Mi Piace all the time. Sometimes we forget to make reservations and we'll wait a bit, but definitely worth it. Friendly workers, fantastic food and what a great ambiance. We're there every other Monday since they have the all day Happy Hour! prices are great and portions are just right! Absolutely recommend Mi Piace to everyone and will keep going there myself.

I absolutely love MI Piace! I have lived in Pasadena for a year now, and go to the lounge at mi piace at least twice a week. The bartenders are incredible (Henri can concoct anything under the sun if you tell him what you like!) and its a great scene at night...DJ, really attractive people (always a plus if you're looking to take something home, lol) and really good drinks. Very cool place to eat and hangout all night long. My roomate and I make it a habit to go every thursday, and wander in at least one other time during the week. Definitely check this place out it is AMAZING!!!!!
- Pros: The lounge
- Cons: none

Great Ambiance, Yummy Food

My boyfriend and I drove to Old Town Pasadena last night to walk around and grab dinner. We had only been there a few times before, so instead of making reservations, we wanted to walk around and choose a place that looked popular. After checking out a few restaurants, we decided to dine at Mi Piace. Although we had to wait 45 minutes for a table for two, it was worth it. The ambiance of the restaurant was great--had a NYC vibe to it, and the food was tasty. I ordered the gnocchi. It was pillowy soft and had a great flavor. It was the perfect portion too. We will go back to this restaurant soon!

Great food in Old Town
by sandrajurrado
Visiting from the west side I had low expectations about what I could find in old town pasadena, as far as cuisine is concerned. My boyfriend I and decided to have lunch a little before noon. Mi Piace seemed like a nice place to eat. Right away we were greeted a hostess who seated us in the restaurant. The decor was trendy with a New York feel. Our server was polite and knowledgeable. I was surprised to hear her recommend a host of specials. I decided upon the Delmonico Steak, and my boyfriend had the Seafood Pescatore . I have to admit the service and the meal was terrific, and nothing in he west side has yet to compare.
Terrible food
by senbonzakurakageyoshi
The food was barely edible. I ordered a lasagna with ground beef in it and well, it was barely edible. The lasagna was very dry, and actually a little cold. The other order (forgot the name, but it was basically spicy pasta with seafood) was slightly below average at best. The calamari was pretty rubbery and flavorless, the pasta was pretty dry and it had too little sauce for too much pasta. For two people, the bill came out to be about 40 dollars and for this price, I'd much rather recommend going to Macaroni Grill. The price will be about the same and the food 5 or 6 times better. Though the plates were huge, the proportions were tiny. Our server was also quite inattentive and we needed to flag the guy down to order after waiting for so long. The scenery inside the restaurant was nice, unless you get seated outside (Which could probably be solved if reservations were made). Then you get to enjoy watching traffic parade through the streets and smell the lovely fragrance of smog.
I would like to say something nice about the restaurant, but there simply isn't anything positive to add.
- Pros: Unfortunately, none.
- Cons: They don't validate non-valet parking, food, service
Excellent Restaurant goes down the tubes due to bad service!
by icebluewaves19
My co-workers and I visited this restaurant on Tuesday, 7/15/08 @ about 5:00 p.m. to celebrate a job promotion. Our reasoning behind this visit was based on excellent first-hand experience last year. Unfortunately, the staff on the bar section totally ruined our experience and our desire to ever go to this establishment again. From the moment we walked in through the doors, we were made to wait 10 minutes to order (it was not busy during this time); the food portions were tiny for the outrageous pricing; when the server was asked for water...it was never brought over; when we finally asked for our check, it took about 15-20 minutes to get our order paid because the staff could not find the credit card handed to them upon our arrival. The staff clearly saw we were not happy with the service, but never offered to lessen the amount of the check.
To validate our horrible experience, a couple who arrived the last torturous moments of our stay also left Mi Piace and followed us across the street to Neomeze (no complaints from this establishment!).
If you want horrible customer service, small portions, high prices, and have time to waste, go to Mi Piace. Otherwise, there are other restaurants in Pasadena to go to.
- Pros: Decor
- Cons: Service, portions, pricing
