After a couple of bad experiences with people who attempted to work on my car and messed things up I was hesitant to let anyone touch it! I found Avo through Citysearch and after reading the reviews I figured I would take a chance - and I am so glad I did. He was courteous and knowledgeable and diagnosed the problem in no time, quoted a price and completed the work the same day. I cannot tell you how happy and excited I am to have found someone I can trust! I have already reccomended him to a co-worker and will be sure to tell everyone I know about my "new mechanic"! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

Went to Foothill Smog to get a smog check and I was amazed at how clean the place was. Avo was nice and very helpful. I was out of there in no time and on my way to work.
This place should be listed as the best smog and auto repair shop in the world!

I saw everyone else's reviews, went there, came back extremely satisfied! I went there for a smog check and the mechanic pointed out all the things that may need fixing. There was a list but SO glad he pointed these things out. Also gave good price quotes too. Parts covered by my warranty will be fixed at the dealership, and I already went at got new tires at the tire place BUT I will DEFINITELY come back to get my belt thingy (lol) replaced. Of course he was knowledgeable, but he was also patient and very willing to explain ALL the questions I had. SO HELPFUL!
- Pros: Everything!
- Cons: No big waiting area. Since I didn't get a ride there, I sat in the office w/ my magazine and Subway. Ha ha

I took my '93 Chevy Blazer in to have Avo look at the cooling system. I'd been told I had a serious leak by the dealer which I didn't believe. Avo pressurized the system and found no leaks other than a loose radiator cap which he fixed. Nice to know a auto mechanic you can trust.
Best Mechanic in town.

This guy is the real deal. He diagnosed my car & fixed first time. What's interesting is that I took my car to the dealer they couldn't figure it out , but Avo did. Very professional & clean shop. I'm recommedning every one of my freinds to Avo's shop.

Avo needs to change the name of the shop to best damn mechanic, honesty free of charge. I took my Lexus there on 7/31/06 to replace the main rear engine seal and the radiator fan hose. This meant removing the chassis, so I knew it would be pricey (the dealer quoted me $1700 min.). Avo not only beats the price, but when he checks out the parts the dealer cited, he exposes the fact that a cheaper part was actually required. That alone saved me $200. The whole repair cost $991 under Avo's watchful care. He did it in two days and that was because he had to order the cheaper part.
By the way, his customer service is great. When he called the rental car company to pick me up, they said they'd be over in 10 minutes. This prompted him to say I'll drive you over myself, which meant I wouldn't be late for work. Nice. The extra touch was much appreciated.
When I first called Avo for a price quote, it was a month before I made it over to his place to get it done. He still had the quote on his computer with the pricing he originally offered. Again, he went the extra mile of documenting prices and backing them up. His thoroughness came through in the workmanship too. The car runs great after he made the repairs. He is the master of auto repair.
PROS: affordable, efficient, honest, helpful
CONS: hard to find--it is actually on Greenwood, south of Walnut

I mention patience because this place was willing to service me even after I got lost trying to get there & was about a half hour late. I am new to the area & knew that I was due for a smog test to get my license. Avo was friendly & helpful, & my smog testing was successful. The staff was able to answer any questions that I had & handled my transaction smoothly. I agree with the other reviews on here, which is why I came. Thank you Avo!

I went in to Avo awhile back so that he could take a look at my car. I was about to take a road trip and he was really fast and efficient with his work. I had my oil changed as well as a full diagnostic on my car for only $60! It was a really great deal and I was impressed. If Avo can't help you, he'll send you somewhere that can. I needed a new tire (which I didn't realize) and Avo was the one who helped me discover that my car wasn't safe. I'm going back shortly for my next oil change!
