Playful riffs on California cuisine are hit-and-miss at this family-friendly mini-chain.

The Scene
Wanna-be wacky décor, exposed brick walls decked with modern canvases and an open kitchen with loopy tile mosaic set the stage for high school dates, family dinners and office workers' lunch breaks.
The Food
The Croc bridges the culinary generation gap. Mom and Dad can get eclectic with dishes like oakwood-grilled salmon bathed in a guajillo sauce while the kids can wolf down their beloved burgers and curly fries. Culinary epiphanies are unlikely but the food is consistent and the prices right, with most entrees hovering around $10. If you only try one dish, chow down on the three-section pizza, a chewy wood-fired crust layered with sections from the barbecue chicken, sausage and pepperoni and four-cheese pies. Occasionally, the fusion doesn't work--like the grilled Cuban chicken breast flecked with the vaguely Indian cinnamon and raisins, but usually it's fun, fast food.
Yummy Bread... but....

The Croc as we call it has a great ambience and great bread, but their dishes are only average. Their prices are kind of on the high side for lunch. None the less, it is a great place to go to have a business lunch. I would recommend their fish of the day specials and their ravioli specials. The waiters are very sweet and service is great.
- Pros: Ambience, service
- Cons: Prices, food
I love this place! Unique Food and Cool Waiters
by showmethemoney
I've been eating here for several years, and I don't see snobbery or anything like that. It's a nice place for lunch. I had a salad with blue cheese, pears and walnuts, in a raspberry viniagrette that was to die for. Another time I tried the daily special of a crusted halibut with a unique fruity sauce. Mashed potatoes were heavenly. Go with the waiter's recommendations here, try something different that you've never had before. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a taste of Southern California food.
- Pros: food, staff
Watch out for the Patio In Glendale~

I sat outside and a pigeon used the bathrrom on me!!!!! The restaurant would not pay for my food! I had to fight them! They need to take care of their pigeon situation!
Ten Bucks for a Burger??

Nestled at the foot of Glenoaks and Brand, this eatery is a favorite for corporates and well-to-do elites alike.
If you make less than 100k per year and don't drive a new benz, expect to feel a bit out of place.
The food is no better than Denny's, but at three times the price, with an ambiance a mix of CoCo's Meets the Castaways.
- Cons: , Food below standard, Snobby Clientele
A Pleasant Surprise
by smitty959
I went here for lunch after reading the bad reviews, and it was a nice surprise. The food was good and the service was fast and friendly. I will definitely be going back.
Hmmm, not so good
by travelerkris
The steak and potatos were overflavored and underdone. The onions overpowered everything, and the service was slow. I am not returning.
bad service

i love crocodile cafe but not this one in Glendale, it took them forever to seat us and the place was not even that packed. I ordered my favorite appetizer--the crab cakes..it was burnt and the my dinner wasn't cook the way it supposed to be. The servers are kinda rude too. I would recommend the one in Old Town Pasadena.
