Typical Arrogance
by CityEater at Citysearch
Like most "authentic" restaurants, this one was good several years ago when it was new and trying to impress. It didn't take long for this restaurant to rest on its laurels and forget about its partons. The quality of meat - the main dish at a Persian restaurant - has diminished and is now dry and rubbery without much flavor. But most important, that feeling of being welcomed by a host - a key ingredient in Persian culture as well as independent restaurant culture - has been replaced by a busy and careless arrogance. They don't care if you loved the food or not. They don't care about telling you that they don't take reservations but then save large tables for special guests while you sit and wait for thirty minutes. They don't care if their careless Valet staff dings up your car and then says "Prove to me that it wasn't like that when you got here." They just don't care. There are still independently run restaurants in LA where the owners care about their customers' comfort and satisfaction. Raffi's is no longer one of those places.
- Pros: Decent Appetizers
- Cons: Everthing Else
Delicious Food

Well for starters this is my first review to post.
In my opinion Raffis Place has the best BBQ yummy tasteful, and you always want to go back for more although it does fill you up. My favorite is the Boneless chicken barg and there eggplant dip.
Love the environment its very nice to go somewhere that reminds you of back home the middle east.
Also the whole crew there is super friendly.
And who knows you might run into a long lost friend at Raffis has happened to me plenty of times.
Try it you wont regret it...
- Pros: Ambience, Parking, Service, Great food.
- Cons: Only con is that I can't take my little puppies along like some other out door restaurants. ;(
Amazing food

Raffi's never lets us down. Their food is amazing and their portions are big. I highly recommend this place to anyone with a big appetite!
- Pros: ambience, food, quality
Expensive for what you get.....
by scsimaster at Citysearch
Food is OK. It seems to be the closet to the kabob houses in Iran. Menu is simple and small. Side orders are very expensive. The decor is very poor. The plastic chares and tables need to go. The utensil?s need replacing and at times have food residue on them. Parking is horrible, especially for those with to-go orders. The owners on the other hand, very arrogant. It is a very expensive kabob house and some appreciation would be nice. Unfortunately no other kabob house like this one exists in Glendale so occasionally I order to-go from Raffi?s (they are lucky), otherwise I would avoid Raffi?s. In fairness I should also say that we always find ways to criticize but that?s how things get better and improve.

the only thing i could say is come try it for your self. and for that idiot with the long post he sounds like a jelous stupid person. where i see a hard working family that have worked fo perfecion for the last 15 years. forget about thier exellent food quallaty .they are probebly the cleanest restaurant i have ever seen ,they have an open kitchen so you see how clean it is. its not like most restaurant where you cant see whats going on in the kitchen. and the grade for the retaurant is A A , yes 2 i dont know how but they do and you can check it out for your self. and by the way i see celeberties their once in a while.so go enjoy and compare it with any other restaurant and judge for your self.

Avoid this place....arrogance served A La Carte
by Nozferat at Citysearch
It's one thing to be arrogant about your restaurant IF the food is good....but this place? I don't know what all you 4 and 5 star people think kebab is but this place isn't.
The food is mediocre at best...the meat is pretty low quality crap....don't believe me? Take some home and try and eat it the next day...it'll make you hurl it's so greasy and fatty...and poor cut.
The service...oh the service. There's a saying in Armenian...people become very smug and arrogant when their stomach is full. The owners of this place are just that. They got REAL lucky with the success of this place...I know because my sister's friend's brother (who's name was Raffi....was the original owner who, at the time, had a VERY hard time getting it off the ground. These idiots role in, buy the place, and somehow the place takes off. I ate at the orginal joint and it was truly good. This place...the service suc$$s, the food suc$$s, the people who come there are complete wannabe seen d$$chebags.
If you like that sort of thing, you'l fit right in...Lord knows, as an Armenian myself I know too well how shallow and pretentious and judgemental Armenians can be...and "Raffi's Place" is a perfect breeding ground for that...it ain't the food they come for, it's the outdoor-ish downtown Cairo feel they come for...where everyone is looking at each other and sizing each other up. Quite pathetic.
If you want real Armenian kebab, try Carousel, try Helena's, try Olive Branch....forgive this place...it's junk packaged nicely.
- Pros: Close to other stores in Glendale Downtown.
- Cons: Overpriced, over-hyped, poor service, no parking, rude owner, what else?
Would definately recommend

This is the second time we have dinner at Raffi's.
Again, the food was quite good, the service was slightly slow but was professional.
The ground chicken was great.
The place was clean and the bathrooms were spotless.
Awesome kebabs, friendly service
by sriley at Citysearch
Very tasty, great service, nice location. They have highered their prices recently and now they seem to be less busy, but the portions are large enough to share, so it is worth it.
Great Kebob

This is the place we always go to when no one can decide what they're in the mood for. It's a great place for large groups and family since it tends to get a bit noisy, but its still very cozy. Every table gets a plate of greenery which is exceptionally fresh and HEALTHY!! Prices aren't exactly cheap but you get what you pay for. Portions are big and filling! Some say the rice is bland because it doesn't have crazy ingredients mixed in but if you know middle eastern foods then you know this is exceptional rice (try making rice this way at home and you'll end up with sticky Chinese style rice-- no really give it a try!) So, in conclusion, if you want great tasting Persian-Armenian food this is the place for you to be!
- Pros: Food, atmosphere
- Cons: None
