Good for parties
by anekab at Citysearch
I've been to Jewel City more in the last few years than in all of the years when my family was bowling in leagues here. Since it really is the only good bowling alley in Glendale, all the leagues bowl here so it can get pretty busy...especially since the renovation. I've been to parties my by sister-in-law's cousins and to watch family bowl in tournaments. It's definitely one of the cleaner...less seed alleys around.
Amazing Experience!!!!
by TanyaB91205 at Citysearch
My boyfriend and I went here on a Friday with a few friends and we had a wonderful time! There is a live DJ who played a few songs we requested and we had food brought to our lanes. The drinks are not only delicious, but they are priced good too! This place is definitely worth checking out if you are looking for an evening of fun with friends. Also, we bought the first hour of bowling at the regular rate ($34) and we received the second hour for only $17! What a deal! Thanks for making our experience a great one, Jewel City Bowl!
Expensive

One word - expensive. Won't go back. Don't recommend anyone else go here, unless they are prepared to spend a lot of cash.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Expensive rates
Bowl here if you are a millionaire
by Carl1254 at Citysearch
Apparently the local millionaires drop their teenagers off here to bowl with a pile of cash. I can not afford to bowl here, but the place was crawling with Glendale teenagers. Yuck! Go bowling at the place on Eagle Rock if you want a nice crowd and good prices..
- Cons: Too expensive
Pricey

Took a date here once and felt ripped off. They milk you on everything, including drinks and food. Go to Pickwick! Or one of the many other bowling alleys nearby.
- Cons: Pricey
Too expensive!
by JulietViolet at Citysearch
A group of friends and I went there and the dirty old place was so expensive! And it was overrun with local pre-teens. Not a fun time.
We ended up going to Pickwick just a few miles a way which was cheaper and much more fun. Also, try Sports Center Bowl in Studio City on Ventura Blvd or All Star Lanes on Eagle Rock. They're both much cheaper and the crowds are hipper, in mid-twenties range.
Over all, Jewel City should not be considered a jewel. It's more like a pricey piece of coal.
- Cons: Expensive, bad crowd
The place to be.......
by jasonburton at Citysearch
This is definately the place to be if you want to have some serious fun, and some laughs. There were a lot of people singing karaoke and dancing. The D.J. was really cool, in fact all the employees were really nice. Me and my friend's hung out in the bar, which was really cool, not too packed.....they put the UCLA game on for us, and we chilled there all night. They have the cheapest beer around and good burgers. I recommend checking this place out.
- Pros: good food, cheap beer
We had a BLAST here!!! ***HIGHLY RECOMMENDED***
by staceysmind at Citysearch
A group of my buddies and I went to Jewel City Bowl a couple weeks ago, and I have to say.... we had a BLAST!! There was a very friendly and upbeat DJ there that just made the place come alive. We started out with a couple drinks in the bar, to loosen up of course.....and then we rented a lane for a couple hours. We were bowling, singing karaoke, and munching on snacks!! I didn't even know this place had karaoke!!! Now I know, so I'm letting you know...Karaoke-Tuesday and Friday nights starting at 9pm@ Jewel City Bowl. Grab your friends and come have some fun!
- Pros: KARAOKE, inexpensive drinks, friendly environment
