Fresh produce and gourmet frozen foods sold at affordable prices.
by Martha Burr at Citysearch
In Short
Founder Joseph Coulombe started this L.A.-based convenience chain 34 years ago. Today, you can get exotic, prepackaged frozen foods, fresh salsas, huge portobello mushrooms, baby artichokes and heirloom tomatoes fresher--and cheaper--than at most supermarkets. Inexpensive meat, fish, coffees and teas, dozens of cheeses, grains and pastas cram the shelves. The frozen section features tasty treats, including barbecue chicken pizzas, mushroom risotto and salmon patties. Beer, wine and liquor sections are stocked with very affordable labels.
Better than the Eagle Rock store

Unlike a lot of neighborhoods, there's been a Trader Joe's in Eagle Rock for decades...and well...it looks like it. That's why we'll often head to the one in Glendale near the Men's Wearhouse. It has a slightly bigger parking lot and a slightly bigger store. Like all TJ's the produce is fresh and they have the treats I love...those chocolate covered raspberry jelly sticks.
Go to Joe's

Man, I can honestly say that this Trader Joe's is better than the one in Pasadena on Arroyo. It's not the selection or the staff, both locations are outstanding. I like this Joe's because it's so easy to get in and get out. Parking is ample and close. Store is clean and checkers are fast.
- Pros: EASY PARKING
A favorite place to go
by maxbbr at Citysearch
A favorite place to go! Trader Joes has its own brand of cookies, breads, soy milk, etc. A variety of things at good prices. Friendly service. If they are out of something they will order it for you. I only go to supermarket for things I can't get at Trader Joes. Cut flowers, potted plants - I've bought alot of these. It gets crowded and you have to squeeze through the crowd to get checked out. Parking is limited too.
- Pros: products
- Cons: parking
