Simply the Best!
by Gloria Ragina
The title to this review says it all. King Fish is the best--been coming here for years. The food is always FRESH and DELICIOUS!
You may take out food or eat there--either way a great experience, and this lady right here is a LOYAL customer!
Very rude
by John22000
Although the freshness of the food can't be beat, the rudeness of the owner? will keep me from returning. The attached coupon on this site says to "mention" Citysearch for the 20% discount. When picking up my catering order I was yelled at in front of a busy store that "You can't walk into a grocery store and SAY you have a coupon!!" Unbelievable!!
- Pros: freshness of fish
- Cons: rude/disrespectful
Even Neptune would shop here. One look, you'll be hooked on the top-quality fish.

In Short
Not only is the fish ultra-fresh at this popular Glendale mainstay, but the store offers top-quality, rare varieties from Hawaii and Fiji (depending on the day/season), sashimi-grade ahi tuna, albacore and yellowtail. With fresh fried fish, a hot and cold deli section and a full gourmet stock that includes game, unique pastas and Hawaiian specialties, go ahead, spend a little.
Always fresh
by anekab
The fish mongers here at Fish King really know their stuff. If you ask what's fresh...they'll actually tell you...and not try to sell you what's been hanging around for a few days. When we're looking for great offerings for special dinners or when I'm just craving a specific type of fish unlikely found at the local supermarkets, I head to Fish King. Granted, you may need to wait awhile until your number is called...but it's worth it.
Knowledgeable staff, great fish
by sithjawa
This fish market, right off the freeway, is well worth a visit any time you're passing through Glendale. Their fish is fresh and they will happily get you whatever piece you are interested in, cut however you want it. If you're not sure what to get, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable and are glad to answer any questions. Their sushi-grade fish is excellent and reasonably priced.
They also sell prepared sushi and sashimi, cooking supplies and books, and many other things. There is a small fish-stand style restaurant attached.
The only con is that this place is very popular and always has a long wait for service. You can take a ticket and wander about the store until your number is called. This can be a while, but there is plenty to look at while you wait.
- Pros: Fresh fish, helpful staff, good variety, cooking implements, books
- Cons: Often crowded, long wait for service
Best Fish Market in LA
by JJones
This is Hands-Down, the best fish market in Los Angeles. Trust me, I have tried them all.
No place carries the selection or has the unbelievable quality of seafood that the Fish King does.
Not only is their fresh fish great, they have a terrific little market that carries just about anything you would need to prepare your seafood.
If you enjoy seafood, and quality is something you have come to expect, then the Fish King is the place. It is worth the drive.
- Pros: Everything
Great market
by LesleyBalla_Citysearch
This is a great fish market. My boyfriend's been in the business for years and this is the only place we've found to be reliable. Great selection, always fresh, always crowded. Prices are reasonable. We drive out of our way to go here.
Something's Fishy
by JaneTunks_Citysearch
Actually, I really like this fish market. For those of us who don't want to drive all the way to Santa Monica Seafood, this Glendale spot has a great selection of fresh fish, and they fishmongers will advise you on what's particularly good that day. Some poeple claim that the Whole Foods up the street has tastier seafood, but I have found that Fish King's stock is always fresher. And it's cheaper too.
