Best sushi in Los Angeles..

by jikae

If you're looking for a great sushi place in the Los Angeles area, Sushi Hirosuke is the place. This place was recomended by a friend who went there beforehand and was a little apprehensive at first because of the distance. However, the food is great and the service is prompt. The location might be a little out of the way; the quality of the food was worth the drive. The price of the food is reasonable and for the quality that you're getting, it's well worth it.

Extravagent sushi

by Sushilover10000

Sushi was quite exquisite. I will go there again for sure. The different types of fusion sushi was one of a kind. Service was prompt and fast. I just ate there tonight, it is quite a drive but totally worth the drive. Very good experience, has authentic japanese grettings.

Best Sushi & Oyster shooters around!

by frederiqueb

I've been going to this place for 3 months now once a week. Although it's way out of my locale, it is worth the drive from L.A.! The decor and lighting can be better, but each time I've been here for dinner it's busy. The prime place to sit is the sushi bar. Although I love hand rolls and the like, I go there for the sushi and sashimi. Fish is always fresh and melts in your mouth. Presentations are nice and clean. Now, my favorite starter are their oyster shooters (with oysters or if you want to be adventurous have it with Uni (sea urchin). The flavors explode in your mouth! Try the spicy tuna sashimi appetizer as it will knock your socks off. There is always ample chefs behind the sushi bar but I would definately get their before 7 p.m. on Friday or Saturday nights. Plan to wait if not. Although if you're not too hungry to wait, it WILL be worth it!

  • Pros: Fishest fish you will find around.
  • Cons: Bit of a wait if you get their after 7 p.m. Fri. or Sat.

One of my TOP Sushi Restaurants in LA

by august26

Oh my this place will knock your socks off, IT ROCKS! The Scallop hand roll is the size of 2 normal hand rolls, the fresh salmon sashimi, was the best i have EVER had. TO DIE FOR!! The owner himself Hirosuke was there, right in front of us at the sushi bar so it was extra special. There are a lot of great sushi restaurants in LA but this one is by far in the top 3 for me!

  • Pros: Sushi, Sushi, Sushi!
  • Cons: nothing

Best Sushi!

by tulipxflower

This place rocks, I've been going here since I could remember. It is expensive but it's worth it. The sushi there is awesome. I recommend the "Cabo Special","OMG Roll",and the "Stuffed Squid". Also there "Soft-Shell Crab" is really good.It does get really crowded there but if you come right when it opens, there really isn't anyone there.

  • Pros: Everything!
  • Cons: Could get crowded

Shhh, don't tell anybody else...

by yoandflo

... at peak mealtimes the restaurant is crowded. But unlike most sushi restaurants, even when crowded, at Sushi Hirosuke there are tables and big, cozy booths that are isolated enough to have a relaxed conversation with your meal.

But the truth is we would come every chance we get for the food alone. It's all about the fresh and clean palate, the skilled and original combining of flavors, the spicy sauce, and the quality of the fish. Our family "must haves" are the Oh My God Roll, Cabo Special, Spicy Albacore Sashimi, Volcano, and the best Lobster Dynamite ever. We live a valley away and have plenty of good sushi restaurants in Santa Clarita, but this is where we come for special occasions, always with great anticipation, and we are never disappointed.

It's a little pricey, but save up if you must, because it's worth it. Sushi Hirosuke is the standard by which we judge all other sushi restaurants!

  • Pros: Everything. And for a perfect evening, there's a Laemmle Theater right across the street.
  • Cons: A bit expensive, but unlike most expensive restaurants, you will get your money's worth.

The sushi is hardly startling but you'd never know it from the crowds.

The Scene
Service is fast but sometimes forgetful. Waitresses bop through the perfunctory decor of baby-pink laminated tables and tile floors, dropping off platters and tossing orders along the sushi bar that spans the lengthy room. Try to arrive before 7pm; waits after that can be epic.

The Food
A random sampling of the menu proves hit-or-miss. The tiny steamed clams in sake broth are a pungent, heady treat. But the edamame comes undercooked and without an atom of salt. A plate of tang-driven maguro shards in a soy, sesame and vinegar sauce is addictive but the baby tuna sushi is slightly soured. A cryptic dish named "Dynamite" turns out to be less than explosive: It's an underwhelming chopped and baked tuna roll.
