Excellent NY Style Pizza
by bkbigfish at Citysearch
A friend ordered this for takeout once and I thought it was decent, but I finally got to visit the restaurant over the weekend and the experience was much better. Pizza always tastes better fresh and this was just the case here. Ordered a sausage pizza and they piled it on...loved that. Other toppings good too...love the thin crust and big slices, just like NY.
- Pros: Big slices. Piles on toppings
- Cons: Seating area
Best pizza!!!!

Definitely the best pizza you will ever find! I mean, not every pizza joint you go into knows you by your name....!! And they have an awesome lunch special....
Almost NY Elite!!!!!!!!

Growing up in Brooklyn has spoiled me when it comes to pizza. The best pizza ever is Grimaldi's under the Brooklyn Bridge. Along with others like Lombardi's and Patsy's New York has the pizza market covered. But i finally found a pizza in California worth the time. I would not rank it with the elites of NY but by far the best I have had in the West Coast. FUGGHEBOUIT!!!!!!!!
26 on zagat? maybe i got the wrong thing!
by cbr2314 at Citysearch
Food is good dont get me wrong but wasnt worth the drive from woodland hills to encino (unless its close to midnight and you want hot pizza). I looked it up on zagat and it was a 26. I've eaten at a 26 rated zagat restaraunt before but wasnt as impressed at this one. Its an italian pizza joint right? so i ate a slice of chees pizza and an order of spagetti and meatballs.... it was ok, not worth the special trip i made
- Pros: hot pizza late night
- Cons: i didnt think it lived up to the 26 it received from Zagat
As close to NY you will fine.....

Moving from NY I have to say this is as close to NY pizza in LA as you will fine. Not 100% but compared to everyone else who tries this so much better and even has a bit of a NY atmosphere. Much better than Dmore's Pizza and anything else in the Valley and LA. I will go back for more since it is cheaper than flying back to NY for a slice!
- Pros: As close to NY as you will fine in LA
- Cons: Don't come here for a typical sit down. This is typical NY style pizzeria.
Fantastic NY style Pizza

I took my dad to Mulberry, because as a New Yorker he's always complaining that there is no good pizza in So Cal. He LOVED IT!!! As did the rest of us!
Ink and pepperoni-grease signatures adorn this celebrity-frequented and -operated pizza joint.

In Short
Both Cathy Moriarty's acting ("Raging Bull") and tire-sized pies draw praises from her famous fans. From Christina Ricci to Rodney Dangerfield, their signed head shots decorate the walls and provide stargazing for well-groomed pizza patrons. The New York-style pizza layers sauce, cheese and toppings on a wafer-thin crust. Spinach white pizza delivers ricotta and spinach with garlic hints, while the meatball parmigiana hero is a hearty alternative to the pies.
Awesome Authentic NY Pie!

This is the closest to a NY pizza I have found in the city. One size pizza, 22 inches, and they use thin SLICED cheese rather than the grated. The crust is very thin, but not soggy because they do not dump on the sauce. The sausage is sliced, no little groung nuggets. A cheese pizza is great, not too heavy but perfect crust, sauce and cheese, and it will run you $15.99 plus tax.
- Pros: Just like NY!
- Cons: Delivery only to Encino, too fattening to eat everyday
Superb NY style Pizza in Encino - try the Fried Eggplant and Ham!
by petersil at Citysearch
This is my #1 Pizza so far I've had in Los Angeles, and Pizza is my fave food. We keep going back their time after time and ordering the large Pizza with Fried Egglant and Ham, although I've tried the regular sausage/mushroom/pepperoni as well. Wonderful light and crunchy crust, no soupy or runny cheese. A very well balanced pizza and I am so sorry when it's gone at the end. They use some wonderful cheese which creates a tangy taste, great sauce (and not too much), and all the ingredients add up to a superb pizza experience. I haven't gone to the other locations only Encino as it's close to where I live. They also have a great chocolate layer cake. Give them a try - they are #1 for both my wife and myself, and the other pizza places I've tried are always compared back to Mulberry Street and so far none have been better.
- Pros: Try the Fried Eggplant and Ham pizza, superb crust and texture, also Choc. Cake
- Cons: Small, noisy, take out rather than eat in
