Best Pizza in L.A.
by persianturquoise at Citysearch
This place seriously has the best pizza in L.A. I went with a bunch of girlfriends last night and we were seated right away. Although our waitress was a bit airheaded and forgot about us, she was sweet and polite. My con was how dark it was inside. I understand that its a sports bar as well, but I hate dim lighting.
- Pros: Margherita pizza
- Cons: Dim lighting
Terrible service by the manager
by psychnurse01 at Citysearch
My family and I went for dinner at this resturaunt. I ordered the California Salad. When I got it there was hardly any chicken or other stuff on it. I asked the waiteress very nicely if I could change my order as I was dissapointed that there was hardly anything on the salad. She rudly told us to "hang on". The manager came by and rudly asked what the problem was. I again explained in a nice manner that for the money the salad was not worth the $15.00. He became very hostile with me and told me that "the salad was priced at fair market value" I explained that I would pay for the salad if it was worth the $15.00. He again insulted me by stating "you are in LA, this is what you get". I was apolled that he would talk to toursits this way. However, I live in LA so I am grateful that someone visiting did not have to go through this. I assertively told him that I would like the chicken burger instead of the salad. He said no. My husband was extremely upset and told him that we were leaving. He said that if we leave he would call the police. We stayed and waited. In the meantime, he would not comp our meals until 30 minutes later when WE called the police stating that the manager was holding us against our will. My mom spent 15 minutes explaining that he was in the wrong and that this is poor customer service. The manager did not care. He kept saying that I was being rude when I asked to change my order.
My 4 year old was crying and we of course left very upset. This happened all over a salad that I asked if I could swith because I was not happy!
I called today to speak with the General manager. The same manger that I dealt with yesterday picked up the phone. I asked politely if I could speak with the General manger. Again, he was rude without even knowing that I was the same person he was rude to last night. He refused to tell me how to get a hold of the general manger and demanded that I tell him why I was calling.
Terrible! Terrible! Terrible!
- Pros: none
- Cons: manager was rude! Threatened to call the police on me!
Horrible service/mediocre food
by CSMobileUser2 at Citysearch
In this economy where each customer matters, the owner seemed to be unaware the fact that wervice matters. When we tried to tell him that my husband was unhappy with his meal he offered to wrap it up and we could take it with us. Rude and inconsiderate.
Football and Turkey Burgers!
by sgc2c at Citysearch
Whoa, I must say that this place pleasantly surprised me! Despite being packed, the servers were very attentive and nice. The big screens were top-notch and perfect for the NFL playoff games I watched. The food was also very tasty. The Turkey Burger is a must have! Prices were ok, after all this IS the promenade we're talking about. I would definitely recommend Yankee Doodles!
- Pros: Good food!
- Cons: Sweaty Eagles fans!
Terrible Customer Service

I would give it a zero if I could. Friday afternoon, we came in and sat at the bar, the bartender saw us but didn't say hi or offer any service. The bar was not busy.
Terrible!!!
No more Doodles.
Yankee Doodles Food Contamination and Sports DIve FIre Trap
by Pat66 at Citysearch
The third street promedade is a shopping area with a vast variety of locals. Yankee Doodles is located on the Promenade. This place is a 15000 square foot dive with rude staff and lousy food.
This is the first time I came here and will not be returning after my hospital visit due to violent foodborne illness that left me dehydrated, expelling what I consumed, with watery evacuations, blurred vision, and massive headache. By the way, I had the wings and artichoke dip and chips. I started expellig my food 3rd quarter of the second game about 4 hours after I ate.
The bathroom areas are completely inadequate for the occupancy load with only two exits. One in the front and one in the back. If there was a fire in this placed the shared exits for the upstairs and downstairs make this place a death trap.
I can't believe the local fire department even allows this place to operate.
This is another case of our local officials allowing third country conditions to persist in violation of the fire code.
- Pros: Lots of Video screens and pool tables.
- Cons: Food, Service, Management
Worst restaurant, don

My family and I went there on new years eve night. We ordered drinks and dinner. Our server was pleasant, For dinner I ordered the pizza and a rib dinner. When it came I took a bite out of the ribs, which were very dry. But, considering the kids were along, i decided to hold my opinion, and just make the best of it. When my margarita came, i tasted it and found it very sweet and syrupie, couldn't taste any alcohol at all. I called the waitress over, and asked if she would please add a little more alcohol in my drink, or take it back. she advised that i would have to speak with the manager, "jimmy". When "jimmy" came over, so did his attitude. He was sacrcastic and very condescending. I told him about the drink, and that he should taste it. He refused, told me that they mixed their drink once a day, and that since i sipped from the glass, i would have to pay for it, regardless. I asked him whether he cared about his customers being satisfied, and he replied by telling me that if i dont pay for the drink, he'll call the police. Our server was so upset by what the manager jimmy was doing, she came back and apologized. . Stay away from this place. It really should be closed down. Don't let anyone you know, local or visitors go there.
- Pros: none
- Cons: no customer service
I give it a -5 stars!

My family and I went there on Xmas night. We ordered drinks, appetizers and finally dinner. Our server was very pleasant, wishing us a Merry Christmas first thing. For dinner I ordered the Chipotle chicken sandwich. When it came I took a bit out of it. It burned my mouth. I assumed that I had to get used to it. I took a second bite and determined that the sauce was so spicy it was inedible and I would get sick if I ate any more of it. I asked our server if I could have the sandwich made without the sauce. She said sure. In a couple of minutes she returned telling me that the manager said no I would be charged for another sandwich. I was surprised and asked her to send the manager over. He (Tony)came over and so did his attitude. He was sacrcastic and condesending. I told him it was inedible and that he should taste the sauce. He said "I do, every day." He tried to trick me into ordering the sandwich remade (so he could charge me for a second sandwich). When I said "but the girl said you would charge me for another sandwich", he VERY sarcastically said "Riigghhttt". When my husband told him to leave so we could finish our meal, Tony refused. My husband had to stand up and yell very loudly for him to leave us alone. Tony made a big production about telling us he was bringing the bill and that we were to leave. We sat there and finished our meal, except me of course. Our poor server was so upset by what the manager Tony was doing. She was near tears. I'm sure he ruined her Christmas as well as ours. I think Scrooge would have had a better attitude that Tony the manager of Yankee Doodles. Stay away from this place. It really should be closed down. Don't let anyone you know, local or visitors go there.
- Pros: Our server was pleasant
- Cons: Tony the manager, customer service, business practices
