The customer's always wrong at the Robin Hood!
by intenseboat at Citysearch
After an hour of being ignored by our waitress, she came over and just dropped us a check without asking if we needed anything. I had ordered a cosmo and it was undrinkable so I asked to have it removed. She asked me why I didn't say anything earlier (how could I when we couldn't find her?). The manager came over and asked, "So who's the "connoiseur" of drinks over here?" To which I replied, "I am" (since seriously, I am. I've been bartending for ten years, I've been published in zagat, metromix, 944, I think I'm on here somewhere, blah blah blah...) Anyway, I told him the drink was way too strong. He said well then why did I order a martini, don't I know what a martini is, they don't short change their customers there, they give them a lot of booze, etc. I said I ordered a cosmo because I wanted something a little sweeter than just a full on shot of vodka. He said, well, I'll take it of this time, but next time I should know what I'm talking about before I order something. He basically berated me in from of all my friends, calling me an idiot because their bartender can't make a drink. Granted, it's a pub, but still, you shouldn't be behind the bar if all you know how to do is pour beer. And you NEVER fight with a customer. Just last night at my bar I had a customer drink five glasses of wine and then turn around and swear that she only drank three. Did I fight with her? No. You just don't do it. A manager especially should know better. I left immediately and will never return.

Authentic British pub offers British beer and ciders as well as traditional pub food like fish-and-chips, cornish pasties and more.

Just like Mum used to make
by nycgrlnewtola at Citysearch
I grew up in a family from Scotland/England, so when my Mum came to visit I was stoked about taking her to Robin Hood since I'd heard such good things about it. Right off the bat the place was warm and cosy, and this was around Christmastime so the decor was really cute. The waitress was extremely friendly, a lovely Scottish woman. We ordered beers and bangers and mash. The food was JUST like my Mum and Dad made me growing up - very authentically British and delicious! We drank cold pint beers and just enjoyed the ambiance and friendly service. I will definitely be back - I can't wait to try the afternoon tea!
- Pros: friendly service, food, beer
Good Brit pub

I've been coming here for years. The Robin Hood has very good food. I love the Bangers & Mash along with the Fish & Chips. The service unfortunately can be slow being that they have a small kitchen. Otherwise its a find restaurant with friendly servers and a classy looking dining room.
- Pros: Food, Friendly servers, Dining room
- Cons: Slow service at times

Good place for cider and darts, good fish n chips, casual place to meet others for a good chat over a pint.
- Pros: casual, good food, good beer
- Cons: location
You'd never guess...

...that the food would be so good. First of all, it's British --not renown for good food. Second of all, it's a bar -- where you wouldn't think to go for a nice meal. But throughout the years, all of the meals that my friends/family have ordered have been outstanding - the fish and chips, the curries, the shepherd's pie - even (especially!) the burgers.
