GREAT PLACE GREAT DOCTORS, MY DOG IS DOING GREAT TPLO Surg.
by Great Dane thanks TPLO
My Great Dane Roxie Loves to run play and chase squirrels all day. She eventually started to limp at the age of 3. Boy what a bummer, she wasn’t able to live the life of a Happy Dog. After researching and speaking to many Veterinarians. I was told It would be an expensive surgery.I was scared, It's not only the amount off money they wanted. It was just the way things where presented to me and the staff that i dealt with from the other Vet's.They didn’t make me feel comfortable. THEN I WAS LUCKY!!!! I decided to take a drive to the VALLEY,And I Found The Best Vet Hospital In the WORLD That i have ever Been too. The Staff was AWSOME>> Thanks .. I called to Book an Appointment for a Ortho Consult. They Fit me in with no problem, and it was the same price as a regular Exam, Now When you go to many hospitals for an Ortho Exam It cost a lot More But Not at this Place.. "That Right there gave me a good feeling, and the woman on the Phone was supper NICE and COOL. Then I met a Dr.Pitt and a Dr. Kim, NOW They know there stuff, really cool, They were so knowledge and experienced with this kind of Case, At this point I wanted THIS HOSPITAL to be the one to do this TPLO and MY VET for Life.Id Pay Anything to doit here i saiy'. I was then presented with and estimate and IT was The Most Reasonable Quote That I received from the 3 other vets I went too. It was worth Every penny. NOW WE ARE PLAYING AND RUNNING. THANK YOU Mid Valley Veterinary Hospital. THE BEST>
I now will tell the World about this Place. affordable and reliable. :) A+A+A+AA++AA+A+A
- Pros: Felt Like Home.A+ A+ Honesty and Respect from all Staff. #1

by marvbeck
I was qouted $4500 by a West LA vet for doing a TPLO knee surgery on my dog. Mid VAlley Vet Hospital did the surgery for much less. They were very reasonable priced for my dogs TPLO surgery. Highly recommend Mid Valley Vet Hospital if you live in Simi Valley and need a TPLO orthopedic knee surgery for your dog
- Pros: TPLO surgery by Mid VAlley Vet Hospital was very reasonable
- Cons: none.
Affordable and quality pet animal orthopedic surgery

compared to big surgical hospitals, Mid Valley Veterinary Hospital provided affordable and quality pet animal orthopedic surgery on the dogs bad knee. In the past they have done knee and hip pet dog orthopedic surgery and saved me alot of money but still providing great service. Follow up care was always courtesy and the staff and Dr. Pitt is great.
- Pros: Saved me a ton on my pets orthopedic surgery
- Cons: none.
Dr. Michael Pitt is the best vet in the Valley!
by leona1114
Dr. Pitt cares for our 3 dogs and 2 cats. He DOES NOT overcharge and never ever piles on unnecessary treatments, and never charges to just give us advice! The staff is friendly and Dr. Pitt is just a charm with the animals. I highly recommend this vet.
- Pros: Excellent care and advice; Vaccine Clinic
- Cons: None really.

I generally only post pos reviews but feel I have to tell our story. We've been clients for 8 yrs & have been pleased with the facility, frnt off & especially technicians & Dr. Pitt. Everyone seems to really love animals. Prices have been ok & I've even received small discounts. However, our most recent exp was horrible. Pro: called to request same day appt & got it. Offfice and exam rooms were clean. Frnt off staff was professional. Animal tech (Cindy) was compassionate & thorough.CONS: Saw a new vet, Dr. Kim & in our opinion she was cold & actually seemed put out by having to touch our cat. She literally made a disgusted face and used just her fingertips and a tongue depresser to exam her. I am the first to admit that she was smelly (we brought her in b/c she was losing weight and her breath smelled & found out smell was caused by prob w/ tooth). Seriously, she's a VET! Doesn't she expect to have to touch smelly animals? Secondly, our cat didn't have a fever and based on the skin resiliency test, was not dehydrated but her "treatment plan" recommended overnight hospitalization w/IV fluids, two injections (no one could tell us what the injections were), overnight care (no one even stays with the animals overnight) bloodwork and a urinalysis. When we questioned the need for overnight hospitalization, she just shrugged her shoulders & said "it's up to you, it's my suggestion". It was painfully clear that her only concern was how much money she could charge. Some vets suggest treatment plans based on how much they think you love your pets and how much you'd be willing to pay for their health. This one seems worse than most. Once she realized that we weren't going to accept her "plan", she had Cindy take over and we never saw her again. We had bloodwork/urinalysis done for $225.00 and were told we'd get a call by 11 w/results...now 12 & I've already called once and no return call yet. Dr. Kim: cold and uncaring
$438!!!! SCAM?? Or just THOROUGH?
by feedthebaby
My cat caught a cold but I waited it out for the first two days to see if he'd be able to fight it off himself. It seemed to get worse as he had a little trouble breathing and threw up twice. After reading reviews on Citysearch, I brought my cat here to get checked out. The receptionist seemed genuinely concerned and was able to squeeze me in ASAP when I explained his symtoms. After the routine weigh in and temp check the DR came in to examine him. It took all but 5 min to tell us he has a cold, needs antibiotics, we need to make sure he eats and stays hydrated and he'll run a couple tests just in case. Sounds good right? Well not so much when I got my bill for $438!! Apparently he did an XRay, bl00d test, urine test, the works. I called back the next day for test results and was on hold for about 20 min. Then I was told he was on the other line and would call me back in a couple minutes. After waiting 2 hours, I called them back and all I got from the DR was he has a high count of white bl00d cells ( whatever that means), continue giving him the antibiotic, and call back if it doesn't improve so they can run more tests. First of all, I know it's my stupidity for paying the bill. But when your cat is yacking, sneezing, breathing through his mouth because his nose is stuffy/runny .. you trust that the DR knows best, right? Right ..well that's what I did . .and I can't help but feel like I got jipped. I also kinda feel like they looked at my employment to come up with a price. I work at a well known company, but I'm an entry level college student not a top Exec. As I was leaving I overheaard the receptionist giving another customer a discount even though it's usually for "police officers, firefighters, etc.. but they'll do it this one time." If my cat doesn't get better, I think I'll try elsewhwere, because I can't afford another $400+.
- Pros: Quick Service, Variety of tests done
- Cons: If you love your pet, come w/ your checkbook, credit card, pinkslip to your car, and/or deed to your home ...
mid valley provides great vet service. always help me when im cash short. highly recommend them in reseda

Its sad when people have pets and can't afford to take good medical care of them. Dont blame the vet if you have no money to help your pets out when they are sick. Mid Valley Vet Hospital has always been there to help me out in a crisis. They often hold checks until I get my next paycheck.. highly recommend this great vet hospital.
- Pros: caring, loving staff.. will often hold a check until I get paid. always see same vet
- Cons: sometimes they are busy and i have to wait 15-20mins. not often
"Business" of Animal Care
by MONTANAPUPPY
My family and I just moved into the neighborhood. Unfortunately, while unpacking, my dog MAY have ingested some ibuprofen. I didn't actually see him eat any, but I called and asked to bring him in just for safety sake. I was informed that it would cost around $300 to pump his stomach etc... Unfortunately for Monte, I didn't have the $300. I asked if I could postdate a check to take care of the charges and I was told no. So, the tech brought my dog back to me and I was sent on my way.
I realize that: 1) it is my fault for allowing my dog to be near medicine. 2) it is my fault for poor financial planning.
So, my concern doesn't stem from the doctor not caring for my dog. My concern is this:
When I was sent on my way, I wasn't offered ANY advice on how to care for my dog. I am not at all angry at them for not caring for my dog because I didn't have the money to pay them for their services. What I am upset about is the lack of compassion that a "healthcare provider" showed to an animal in need. Needless to say, when Thursday comes (Payday), I know that I will not seek treatment for Monte from this establishment. In the meantime...I hope Monte makes it to Thursday.
- Cons: Lack of compassion for a potentially sick animal
