Opphoensive

We ordered a #24 Pho soup with fried rice noodles and got a plate of fried rice with vegetables. When we called over the waiter, he was extremely rude, insisting we read the menu wrong and that despite it being the 24th item listed under the heading PHO, it was not a soup. We protested that Pho was by it's nature soup and therefore we thought we had ordered a fried rice noodle Pho. He actually cursed at us as he pulled the food from our table. He was so rude, so chastizing when we said we wanted Pho, what the menu indicated was a fried rice noodle soup (a vegetarian opition we assumed), that when we heard him yelling in the kitchen after returning the item, we decided to leave. An extremely unpleasant dining experience. DO NOT eat here. Los Angeles has a plethora of amazing Pho restaurants. This is NOT one of them ! Consult the LA Weekly for better suggestions in the Valley.

  • Pros: The Freeway isn't far away, so you can eat somewhere else
  • Cons: Abhorent Service

Pho central!

by superpilot1956 at Citysearch

I love coming here for Pho Ga. It's one of the two places I go to in the valley, the other being its sister store on Reseda Blvd. Haha. I also like how they accept credit card because a lot of fast food asian restaurants typically do not. The chicken can be better though. I've tried a few places in westminster and they give you nicely sliced chunks of chicken versus randomly pulled strips. Nonethess, I won't complain since the valley is so much easier to fulfill my PHO craving rather than heading out there.

  • Pros: Quick, tasty, and satisfying
  • Cons: chicken could be better

If you like to get yelled at by your toothless server

by BecauseIwanna at Citysearch

Being a fan of pho and of Vietnamese food in general, I thought I would give this place a shot - especially after reading the reviews. I'm not from the area so I searched for pho and came across this place. I made the mistake of believing the reviews. Not only was the food bland and ugly, but my parents and I were barked at by our server. Oh well.

  • Pros: easy to find
  • Cons: food is disappointing, language barrier and major attitude.

Good place for great pho

by nohe812 at Citysearch

I come to this location all the time since I work nearby. I've tried the one across the street, but they are a little pricier, and (I just found out) use MSG. This place consistently serves an awesome bowl of pho. Good broth, good meat, good veggies (if you order the vegetarian pho), and good noodles. Their boba is delicious. The servers can be slightly ambivlent, but the hosts keep the show running. They are fast, consistent, and delicious -- I've even driven from Westwood for a bowl of pho!

  • Pros: fast service, consistently delicious pho, great boba drinks
  • Cons: servers can be ambivalent

Best Pho in town

by platypusalooza at Citysearch

Forget the $9.00/bowl chi-chi hipster junk and try this authentic little joint. The extensive menu offers much more than just pho and the meals are true-to-form with a distinctly Vietnamese taste (as opposed to a more Americanised or Pan-Asian spin). The noodle bowls and hot seafood dishes are a treat. And although I have yet to try it, the "Beef 7 ways" meal is offered for those into the more elaborate end of the menu. I've been coming here for years and it's always consistently outperformed the competition in town.

  • Pros: Value, authenticity, polite service
  • Cons: Kinda hole-in-the-wall-ish

super cheap and VERY good

by dmenkes at Citysearch

Not a dive, per se, but Simple would sum Pho 999 up nicely. Like many other Pho restaurants, tables are numbered and sports can be viewed from multiple big-screen TVs. Lunchtime can get extremely crowded so showing up early will get you prompt seating. The iced drip-coffee is really good and is usually ready by the time you finish your soup. One of the better places for Pho in the Valley.

AUTHENTIC VIETNAMESE

by budd_e_bev at Citysearch

If you haven't tried Vietnamese noodle soup, then I'd recommend giving htis a try. It's cheap, their deserts are good, but not your typical ice cream and cake. The environment here is very clean, and you are served by Vietnamese people themselves who know how to make it just right! Deserts are mainly cold with crushed ice with milk and fruits. It's realtively cheap as a bowl of soup ranges from 4.00+ Pretty filling for the price as well. Give it a try

  • Pros: Cheap, Fast Service, Filling
