Can't say what the food tasted like
by CSMobileUser2
The restaurant was half full on a Saturday night and yet we could not be seated without waiting. After 5+ minutes (checked the clock twice) of sitting with no person even acknowledging our presence we left. Have fun if you go.
My favorite place!

the Chinese chicken salad is incredible,we both had one and I haveto say it was the best I ever had and theprice at $12.95 was just unbliveable for the quality of food we recived was. Here my favorite place.. Usually have chinese chicken or amys grapefruit salad, ate at the bar it is a good atmosphere, good time. Good quality for the price!
kitchen nightmare
by william2008
I ordered the rotisserie chicken and my dad ordered the chopped salad. For an appetizer we ordered the calamari. My rotisserie chicken seemed like it was cooked two days ago and then re-heated in the microwave. It was dry and when I would cut it up it would crumble into little pieces. I think that the rotisserie chicken that you can buy at Ralph's is much better.
In my dad's chopped salad everything was a light greenish gray color with canned mushy red peppers on top. It could be called canned instead of chopped salad. Don't even get me started on the calamari. That stuff was downright nasty and drenched in oil. The lemonade was great. Thanks for the refill.
- Pros: lemonade
- Cons: food
Best Wings Ever!
by Buster0102
My husband and I eat there at least once a week. We like it because they have a great selection of food - stuff he'll like (i.e., burgers, steak) and stuff i'll like (salads, appetizers, pizza). By the way, their hot wings are awesome!! I highly recommend it if you are interested in great food at a good price. The only thing that stinks is that they don't deliver.
- Pros: Hot wings are great, prices are OK
- Cons: they should deliver!
Last meal at Stanley's for me
by DennisL3546
I ate there today, 02/10/08. I did order the burger medium-rare. It came out medium-well. That's also happened to me at Stanley's before. I've had many good meals there over the years, but now I've had my last one there. Too many times the meat or fish is overcooked, and then brought to the table luke-warm. Not good. The response of the waiter today? It's not my fault. The kitchen screwed it up. That made me feel so much better.....
- Pros: Salads are generally good
- Cons: Meat and fish is often overcooked and brought out luke warm
Chinese chicken, what? Chinese chicken, how? Chinese chicken, gooooood.
by losallens
I've had the Chinese chicken salad about a dozen times. Its fantastic. Nothing fancy, just delicious. My girlfriend recommends the grilled artichoke. Both are excellent. If you want pizza go to a pizza place. Also, if you don't want an overdone burger, ask for medium-rare, or rare.
- Pros: Chinese chicken salad, kobe Burger, Artichoke
- Cons: Parking.
Horrible food
by awolfemaker
Since the parking lot always looks packed & there are people always outside I figured this was probably a good place to eat. Well the first time, I had the bbq chicken pizza...it was nothing special at all ! I think you can probably get a better pizza in the frozen section at the market ! I decided to give it one more shot...so on my 2nd visit I got the patty melt. The hamburger meat was SO over done, it was completely dried out. The cheese wasn't even melted. This place is horrible ! I will never eat here again. I can't figure out what the hype is all about.
Good food for great price
by fkobaya
I had gond to this restaurant without knowing much about it but without any expectation it was great :) Great pastas and drinks. It was getting dark and the ambiance was romantic but casual
- Pros: food, drink, ambiance
- Cons: parking, location, none
great hidden spot
by littledante
I have been to Stanley's probably about 100 times in the last year. When I discovered it, I wasn't expecting much. The inside isn't all that fancy, and I was anticipating an "average" meal. I was wrong!!! I was surprised at how great the food is. Their sourdough bread is amazing. And if you sit at the bar for happy hour, you get free veggies and spinach dip. Also try the chicken strips as an appetizer...they are great. If you are looking for a nice, reasonably-priced meal in a low-key setting, this is the place to be.
- Pros: great bread, cheap prices, delicous food
Simple, time-tested California cooking in the Valley.
by Contributor
In Short
The airy space and decor are modern and minimal, all straight lines and cream walls warmed by atmospheric lighting. Divided by a low wall studded with plants, the huge bar and dining area have been dishing out simple California cuisine since 1983. An artichoke appetizer is served with chipotle mayonnaise or butter for dipping. Turkey meat loaf and homemade veggie burgers--beans, lentils, rice, veggies--both come with shoestring fries. Popular desserts include chocolate-chip cookie and mud pies.
