Now known as Joy Feast
by dmenkes
Chopstick Chinese Restaurant is now known as Joy Feast Chinese Restaurant. With lunch specials betwen $5 and $6, it makes the perfect lunch stop for nearby studio employees. I personally eat lunch here at least once or twice a week and have tried almost every lunch special on the menu. The one time I tried ordering an entree, it was the braised duck with chinese pancakes. The duck was overcooked and dry, and the pancakes were stale. Their hot and sour soup is quite tasty, and their paper-wrapped chicken excellent. I highly recommend their lunch specials. Local studio employees get 10% off; be sure to check that your company gets the discount.
- Pros: inexpensive lunch specials, they do take credit cards (even amex!)
- Cons: no parking (limited out front but most of us walk here)
Their food gave me a headache
by rantrabbit
I talked to the manager about this issue. I ate there and got a very bad headache. I ignored that because I thought it was just me.
Then I ate some food I had ordered for carry out the next day. Once again I got a headache. I called Joy Feast because I wanted to know if they use MSG in their cooking. I've read that MSG can give some people headaches. They said they don't and that they only use Knorr Chicked Powder.
Nonetheless if I eat there again I am going to specifically tell the waiter NO MSG in the food for me.
I used to have no problem eating at Joy Feast.
I hope this glitch was merely the mistake of a new cook.
- Pros: very fresh ingredients
- Cons: Their food gives me a headache now
