Substandard

I can't believe I spent $250 for 3 hours on something I could have had done for $50 by a nice independent maid. I originally called Merry Maids cause I wanted more of an industrial clean. My fee was "discounted" to $240 for 3 hours. Then when they came over, even though the maids were friendly they estimated $270 to $360 plus a "credit card fee." I called the lady up and said I had been quoted $240 and that there was NO MENTION of a credit card fee and in a huffy way she said she would waive it. The maids did a regular clean and ended up leaving ten minutes before the 3 hours. When I got my final bill it had ADDED the $10 credit card fee. I called them and said I had been told it had been waived and the woman on the other end acted huffy again and said her boss would get back to me. Still no call! Do yourself a favor and get a nice personal referral instead of this service. Their work isn't any different from other maids and over-priced and shabby.

Terrible Customer Service

This service doesnt serve the greater L.A. Area.

I asked for a quote for Los Feliz and they don't service this area.

They don't even serve Hollywood. How does a nationwide service not serve Hollywood?

The woman could barely understand me and hardly spoke English. Ugh.

Terrible Experience

I had a really bad experience with Merry Maids. They half cleaned everything. My entire house is wood floors and after they left a wet paper towel wiped up wads of dirt everywhere. The didn't vacuum anything in corners or on the sides of the walls. They didn't wash anything I specifically asked like baseboards, door frames, doorknobs, and doors. They refused to clean an oven and outdoor windows. I found body hairs on my kitchen countertop which means they cleaned with old towels or towels from the bathroom. It was a complete disaster especially granted my baby was due in five days. Not only was my house made dirtier but I had to clean it myself at that point so late in the game. I have to say, however, all management I spoke with was so kind to me and seemed very embarrased. They provided me a full refund with sincere apologies. I guess I just got a really bad team but at that point I really felt the only way I could feel clean was to do it myself.

• Cons: Not sure what kind of a cleaning team you'll get.

I wouldn't try them again

We had a terrible experience with Merry Maids.

House cleaning was mediocre and they are expensive. We had a situation with them such that we needed to speak with their company management. What we learned is although they advertise being a part of the largest housecleaning service, the fact is that you are working with a franchise and the parent company does not get involved in issues that arise. So you might as well be working with any other company who provides these services...who will probably be less expensive. And I would advise that you ask how & what things are covered under their bonding and insurance coverage. We found that the protection we expected was not a reality.

Great work

I finally gave in and started having Merry Maids come to clean my house about a month ago. I am so glad I did. It's so great to come home to a clean house after work, instead of spending my evenings and weekends scrubbing my kitchen floor. It's really reasonably priced, too. I highly recommend this service.
