The staff at this place was somewhat rude and unhelpful. The room they put us in had so much dog hair on the floor my daughter and I used 10 to 15 wet papertowels while waiting for the doctor to clean it up. They are more expensive then any animal hospital emergency or not that I have ever been to. Go down teh street to Beverly Oaks in Sherman Oaks at least they are nice and the prices are better.

While visiting family in Sherman Oaks my little dog got into a fight with a cat at 2:30AM. Fortunately a neighbor (who was awakened by the fight noise) drove my dog and I to Dr. Cavanaugh's Emergency Animal Hospital. Upon arrival members of his staff quickly assessed the injuries and immediately rendered first aid. AND, within seconds Dr Cavanaugh began to treat the dog's wounds. I am convinced that his swift and professional attention saved my dog's life. Everybody should know that Dr. Cavanaugh, and his staff, are very talented and highly trained. I am very grateful for the services provided by the Emergency Animal Hospital.

The Animal Emergency Centre, and Dr. Morgan Cavanaugh in particular, saved my cat. She was lethargic, sick and not at all herself. As soon as I brought her in to the Animal Emergency Centre, she was treated with care and concern. Within just a few hours, Dr. Cavanaugh had her back to her normal perky self.

I had my Jack Russell in to see Dr. Reis and was treated with concern and professionalism. I have had Daisy in on numerous occasions and have always felt confident in the care she has received from the entire staff. I can't imagine what the person is going on about AEC being a bunch of liars and con people. It seems to me the same person has written a number of reviews.I hope that readers will realize this and not allow this to deter them from a compassionate, professional and possibly lifesaving experience.

  • Pros: compassionate, professional and caring
  • Cons: possible wait if not as urgent as other pets

I just came home from a great experience at the Animal Emergency Center and I wanted to write a positive review. When I logged onto CitySearch I found what appears to be the rantings of a madman in multiple postings. Why do they allow this to continue being posted? It is obvious that this man is unstable and is unhappy about something that happened but the fact that he keeps posting these unintelligible rants is insane. I hope that other users of this site recognize that one of the problems with the internet ratings like this is the lack of accountability and editing. I have no idea what he is going off about but it all sounds like slander to me. My dog was at this hospital tonight with Dr Cavanaugh after he had a seizure. I was so scared when it happened and I didn't know what to do. The staff was very calming when I arrived with Toby and they helped me with him right away. Dr. Cavanaugh was so professional and caring and he explained everything in a way I could understand. Toby came home with me and he is doing fine thanks to the great care at Animal Emergency Center. I suggest that you ignore the bad ratings by the one crazy man who keeps posting and give this hospital a chance if you ever have an emergency with your pet. They are great all the way around.

  • Pros: Professional staff, fair pricing, clean hospital
  • Cons: None that I can see

I have taken my mischievous Jack in to the clinic on numerous occasions. The staff has always been pleasant and caring. The Dr's. and techs are thorough and explain everything to me in language I can understand. I would be lost without Animal Emergency Center and the staff. I'd wait all night if I had to before I would take Daisy any where else.

This place rocks! I wish that they were open for normal things like shots because every time I have been there with my dog I have gotten the best care ever, even better than my regular vet. Dr. Cavanaugh saved my puppy's life when I rescued her from a shelter and didn't know that she had parvo virus. And last week I saw Dr. White after she was bitten at the dog park and needed stitches. I have also been there once with a friend whose dog had a cough and even though she wasn't critically sick, they treated her with a lot of concern and care. The front desk staff is always caring and professional and the hospital is cleaner than my own doctor's office. They also have an awesome coffee machine up front! It's all the little touches like that that matter. I would never go anywhere other than Animal Emergency Center with my dog if I had a choice.

  • Pros: Caring staff, great service, really care about animals
  • Cons: It's and ER- you can wait a little if something more critical is there (worth it!)

If you, like us, feel that your pets are members of your family I would go nowhere other than the Amimal Emergency Centre in Studio City. I only wish they were open 24 hours so that I never had to go elsewhere (in truth, I wish they treated humans too so I didn't have to deal with a lesser standard of care at human hospitals). The Animal Emergency Centre has saved our elderly cats life twice now and each time they have done it kindly, compassionately and for a fee that was more than reasonable. Our 16-year old cat is beside me as I write this, purring away and as good as new because of the outstanding care she received at Animal Emergency Centre. We also had our puppy treated there for more minor wounds and she too came out tail wagging, happy to have been a patient. Our cat and dog was treated by Dr. Cavanaugh and Dr. White, both of whom listened, responded, and clearly had our best interest and our pets' best interest at heart.

  • Pros: Best staff and medical care for your furry friends

Incredible Emergency Hospital!

They saved my pets life twice!!! The first time he was bite by a rattlesnake and the second time a coyote. The staff was quick to respond to each situation, and I truly feel that my dog received top notch care. Unfortunately, I have to move out of LA and am concerned that my dog will be in jeopardy if he ever has to go anywhere else. This hospital is the Best of the Best!

  • Pros: Outstanding care, high tech, compassionate
  • Cons: none

I've brought two of my family pets, both dying from different illnesses (kidney failure, and liver failure) in the past year, and both were saved by the extremely competent doctors and staff!

I had financial constraints, and they were more than willing to help me prioritize so that my pets could receive the best treatment at a somewhat affordable price. I've lived in the area for 25 years and would never go anywhere else!!!

Who are you Paula G to tell someone who lost their pet and is understandably upset to have a different perspective? Wait until your pet goes and I wonder what perspective you'll have? Vets are great when they deliver your pet back to you in one piece, but when you lose a loved one, it's an entirely different perspective, obviously. You don't know that person's experience there, do you? Of course not. I,too, have had good and bad experiences at this facility. It depends upon many things including your pet's condition, the vet's attitude, your level of grief, etc. Her pet died. Let the person vent without your judgment if that's what they need to do to grieve.
