Don't Bother
by MissSteves
When I walked in and saw it was practically empty on a Friday night, I should have turned around and left. I don't know what possessed me to sit down in this dimly lit, dirty place. I ordered their special, which was an Ahi salad. When delivered, the fish was impossible to really chew and swallow. It wasn't spiced. The lettuce was plain and a little stale.
My friend ordered a burger; which was a little better, but not worth the stiff price for it.
The restroom was dirty.
When I read the good reviews, it makes me think the employees are writing them.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Cardboard Food
Health food without the attitude
by kiercemartin
This place has a really relaxed atmosphere and does health food without being pretentious about it. They offer all kinds of veggie and vegan fare. I always go for soup and sandwich but I hear their entrees are great too. They also have a great selection of teas. I would definitely recommend this place for a health food restaurant that keeps it humble.
Best Healthy Food

The Good Earth is a healthy and peaceful dining experience! Make sure and try the spinach raviolis and their BLT sandwich they can not be matched!
- Pros: Food and celebrity sightings!
- Cons: Service can be slow on Sunday mornings when its packed.
Conviently Healthy Cuisine

This dining establishment is a pleasure to visit for my honey and I. The food is healthier than what you'd get at most restaurants and it tastes great! I have never needed to make reservations or wait to be seated. The average meal costs no more than $15.00 there, which is superb for those who do not have extravagant lifestyles (myself included).
Only for the super-healthy (not me)

There's absolutely nothing on the menu that doesn't feel like it was made out of old granola. Some people like that but mostly the deserted tables and the kitschy environment make it clear that this place is past its time. My wife got sick from the food and I had the runs all night (sorry, but it's true). Unless your body is your temple and it's "clean" for natural foods, this place is too much of a risk...also, it smells like maple syrup.
Always A Treat

I can't really understand the three reviews already posted and how negative it was, but I think "The Good Earth" is an example of excellent dining. I don't get to go out to Studio City very often, but if I'm in the area, I make sure to go.
My favorite is their Cobb salad, which is fantastic, and their multi-grain pancakes, which in my opinion, are the best there is. I always anticipate their multi-grain rolls, too, which come with butter and applesauce. The ambiance at the restaurant is very relaxed, although a bit noisy, and not as cozy as I would like. Maybe because its more vegetarian than anything, I always associate it with a more "Westside" vibe, especially in terms of clientele. The wait staff is usually busy and maybe not as attentive as possible, but I've never been disappointed.
- Pros: Good Salads, Easy Parking
- Cons: Not very cozy
why is this place popular?
by margie2265
i don't know if we just had the wrong things, but the food here is really bad...just completely bland and uninteresting. the service was really slow, the ambience is like that of a barn's. not a place i'd ever recommend or go to again.
- Cons: bland food, slow service
Hit or Miss
by 8ngrind
Some dishes are tasty and original, others are bland and unsatisfying. I've been there a handful of times and it definitely is a roll of the dice. The service, however, was ALWAYS BAD. So, my last time was my LAST time.
- Cons: bad service
Good Eats

The Good Earth fancies the palette with an interesting and delightfully tastey spin on health food. The atmosphere is complimentative to the varied menu by providing a serene, tranquil display for the senses. The approach being to soothe and calm while exploring the art of alternative dining. While the experience is unique and separate to any competition that occupies close residence, the expectations remain the same when considering service. However synchronized the ambience and cuisine, the staff should not be as lackadaisical. If time is on your side, relaxation and alternative yet health-conscious culinary creativity may just be the way the escape the afternoon. If none to spare, there are plenty of conveyer belt, plate-pushing venues to choose from.
- Pros: Good, quality food, reasonably priced
- Cons: poor service
