Just dined there last night, and learned that after 20 years the best shrimp place in the area will be closing. I can recall many late night drives to Killer Shrimp for the shrimp and pasta! Get there before the last day and have a bowl of the shrimp and pasta! The chocolate cake is also excellent.

Bye, Killer Shrimp - you will be missed!!

  • Pros: Near the beach
  • Cons: Parking can be a challenge

I love this place. I have been a customer since 1990. I have visited all locations and everything is consistant. The food and the service is great. Too bad this location is closed, but the Marina Del Rey branch (The original location) is still around. Happy shrimping.

  • Cons: None

I am amazed there are reviews of a restaurant that closed (due to a lack of business) over a year ago.

I've attempted to edit this, but your website doesn't accept notices of OUT OF BUSINESS.

Also Cafe Tehran moved from Studio City to Encino a few years ago, fix the website. I tried changing the address in my review, but the changes were not accepted.

Today, my date and I just attempted to go on an afternoon date here at Killer Shrimp. He hadn't been to this location within a year... He has been to the other location in West Los Angeles within the last 6 months! But he assured me that both locations have killer food! Unfortunately, he arrived there (traffic was horrible today, so he beat me), the sign was down and the placed was closed. :( Too bad, I heard good things about this restaurant.... I guess I will have to go to West LA for some Killer Shrimp.

I LOVE Killer Shrimp! The menu is simple, but the food is excellent! I love dipping the bread in the spicy broth. The service is nothing extraordinary but I really like the atmosphere. This restaurant in definitely in my top five.

  • Pros: Great food
  • Cons: A little pricey

the shrimp was definitely tasty, but the style of the restaurant didnt fit the menu. Not a good value. If the same food was served at a clam shack by the ocean and it cost half as much I would say it was awesome.

I like Killer Shrimp - although I must admit my girlfriends are a little more gung-ho than I am. But definitely try it if you like spicy and unique. Get the original in-shall shrimp. Lots and lots of lemon will be needed too. I think the shrimp are kind of bland - but the broth is yummy. Have some wine - great for a girls dinner. Don't forget the chocolate cake........mmmmmmm

  • Pros: Unique, spicy, eat with your hands
  • Cons: Eat with your hands, can be bland

I got to start off by saying I love this place since the first time I went there. The short menu of Shrimp in a soupy dish. The spices and flavoring is great to dip the bread in. The ambiance of the place a bit on the dark side but I dont mind because it is quite cozy with friendly service added each and every time Ive dined there. There is always parking.

  • Pros: Great spicy flavored broth with shrimp
  • Cons: a bit pricey, no butter available for bread

Oh man it's true - this shrimp is killer - killer tasty - killer spicy and killer addictive. You can have shrimp with rice or bread and they offer for 1$ more to peel it for you - worth it! the shrimp is amazing and the spicy soup that it floats in is even better - go straight for the bread basket and dip the bread in the spicy soup - and to hell with the carbs - cause it tastes so good!

PROS: great spicy shrimp

CONS: if you don't like shrimp - this is not your place - that's all they offer.

The place has a limited menu because it only serves shrimp. But that is their forte. The broth is very, very tasty, and having it with a side of rice or bread can warm the belly. If you don't want to get messy pay the $2.00 to have the shrimp pealed. The Cesar Salad was was excellent. I can't wait to go back and try the shrimp with rice. The server said to order the rice on the side.

  • Pros: Good Shrimp, Fun, Spicy
  • Cons: Dark
