Great Sushi

by JonSoleymani at Citysearch

Katsu-ya is a great, small sushi joint that you'll love! Only problem is, get a reservation...its always full!

  • Pros: Great Sushi, not "snooty"
  • Cons: Hard to get a table

Awesome Sushi

by lovetoeatgood at Citysearch

Delish! One of my top 3 sushi places in LA. And their rolls are awesome too.

  • Pros: Fresh fresh fish
  • Cons: Long wait, but it's worth it

watch out! High prices, rude staff, good food but not worth what you have to put up with to get it and pay top

dollar for. There are too many

fantastic places to eat in la

Best Sushi

by tismeeh at Citysearch

This is one of my favorite spots!!!! The wait however is a pain in the butt. I don't think they even take reservations. I once saw Jessica Alba there w/ her hubby and even they had to wait!

As for the food. Everything there is delicious. I especially, always get the miso cod. ALWAYS. =)

This place is tiny, but I love it. The crowd usually consists of people who know of this place and know the line is worth waiting for the delicious food.

  • Cons: sometimes a long wait. Takes no reservations

best location, i love the one in studio city much better than the one in hollywood. i feel the atmosphere is a little more inviting at the studio city one and the service is terrific! my service was great here, if i have to go to one, ill try for the studio city location

Food-WOW

by justicedeja at Citysearch

5 stars for the food. omg so good. I had the creamy salmon roll as waitress recommended, and i'm now hooked. (i asked for no avocado and no onions just the salmon). Waitress was very very friendly and gave suggestions. We really felt important. Decor was kinda cheap i wish they'd fix the place up, dim the lights add some decor. They forgot 2 of our orders and claimed they thought we didn't want it. I'd rather them just say they forgot. I'd go back if it was a bit more romantic and nicer inside. they have valet parking for $3.50, that was very convenient.

  • Pros: Amazing food, very friendly staff, valet parking
  • Cons: Forgot 2 of our orders, decor is bland

My absolute FAVORITE

by cleopta08 at Citysearch

I love Katsu ya!!! It's my favorite sushi place I've ever been to! Sure the service isn't the best, but I soooo would put up with lousy service for fresh and delicious sushi! The one is Studio City is MUCH better then the one in Glendale or Hollywood, those are very hyped and fancy, and it just takes away from the focus on the FOOD!

  • Pros: Fresh sushi, celebrity sightings, Fresh sushi
  • Cons: parking, the wait....

The Best Sushi in Southern California

by artegone at Citysearch

When I first moved to Studio City, a friend told me, "the best sushi in Southern California is in Studio City!" When I asked where specifically, he told me Katsuya. That was probably the best advice I've received to date. Time and again, I've had the most amazing meals at Katsuya. I love trying new things and the wait staff always offers fantastic suggestions! I especially love the yellowtail jalapeno sashimi and lobster dynamite. Really, you'd be hard-pressed to find something BAD on the menu.

  • Pros: Sushi, Sake, & Beer!
  • Cons: Always packed; having to wait for a table
