That OB- Dr. Masterson is horrible! I saw her once when I was 6 weeks pregnant with my first. I had to wait 1 1/2 hours to see her. Then in the appt, I objected to having an ultrasound on that visit and she implied that I may miscarry and that having an ultrasound is the only way to know if everything is okay- what? it's not like it would stop a miscarriage!! I drove away from her office crying! She also made me bleed after the vag exam and didn't tell me, so I was freaking out later thinking I was miscarrying, only to find out later that bleeding is normal after an exam. I debated for months, even years, writing her and the AMA a letter about her and didn't- but of course I should have!

One of my good friends had her for her first baby and told me of a time she showed up at 39 weeks pregnant and she was at a birth and no one called her, and didn't apologize. She also told me that she wanted to shower the day after giving birth and the nurse said that Dr. Masterson was on her way to see her and would be mad if she had to wait for her to finish showering, so mr friend sat around all sweaty after giving birth and she ended up being like 4-5 hours late! The nurses all hated her and was worried she would yell at them for letting her shower! But she does have a great office, right on Ocean with a view! That's the only positive thing I can say about her.

Horrible experience

I waited an hour for my first appointment with Dr Masterson, which she rushed through. Nobody ever apologized for the wait.

I recently went to the ER b/c of some pain, and found out I have a complex ovarian cyst. The ER told me to see my GYN immediately. When I called to make an appointment, her nurse said she doesn't work on Wednesdays and they couldn't help me. The nurse told me I should find another doctor if I think this is an emergency.

I suppose Dr. Masterson told them to fit me in, because they called me back and said she should see me ASAP. She coldly told me it could be cancer. She spent not even 5 minutes with me and left. I deserved more information than she told me.

I have been awaiting test results from her that were supposed to arrive yesterday. Nobody from her office called me. I called to ask about them, and one of the nurses told me that if tests are normal, the staff files them away and doesn't call. Needless to say, I never got a call back from the staff. So I'm waiting over the weekend for a test that supposedly is supposed to tell me if I may have cancer. She never called to ask me how I'm doing - just tells me I might have cancer and washes her hands with it.

I called on a Saturday because I thought I might be having a medical emergency (but wasn't sure, since I'm not a doctor), and she yelled at me. Didn't even remember who I was (she told me about the cancer 2 days ago), asked if I was pregnant (I'm NOT) and yelled at me for calling. Said if I was really worried, I'd just have to get squeezed in on Monday so she could look at my charts.

She's a professional, and weekends are an expected part of that job for any professional, let alone a doctor. I have never encountered a professional so cold and unprofessional. I didn't know she'd been on Oprah and Dr. Phil or I NEVER would have gone to see her. This just makes it worse. Please don't waste your time seeing her. Her staff is rude, and she is worse. Run, run, run away.
