Best Carne Asada North of San Diego
by chadmanning at Citysearch
We (me and everyone I've turned on to it) eat here at least a few times a week. It's like the taco shops in San Diego, but cleaner with better service. The rolled tacos (big taquitos really) with guacamole and cheese are awesome, guac is fresh like everything else. The carne asada burrito is not humungous, but good sized, juicy, and better tasting than any you can find in LA. Most everything I've tried on the menu has been delicious, veggie burrito, super nachos etc.. And their open LATE!!
Great Drunk Food!

Great late night stop for a midnight snack or a 2am after the bars pit stop! I recommend the Rolled Tacos (Alwasy 5) and the Nachos con carne asada! YUM
Well, at least its cheap

After luring over the entire Great Taco Hunt blog, I had a huge craving for Mexican food. I live in San Mo, so my options were limited. I wanted something cheap and quick but also authentic. Only taco stands, please.
Benitos only satisfied two of my desires: cheap and quick. I got two tacos--carne asada y chix. I've had better carne asada from Trader Joe's and the chix was just ok. Salsa was watery. All in all, I'd hitt this place up in an taco-emergency, but it was just ok.
Great late night treat

I hit Benitos for a cheap and delicious late night snack about once a week. It also makes for a pretty good lunch. The rolled tacos are awesome and the gaucamole is fresh.
- Pros: Tacos, Toppings, Service
Not Great, but Good

There's nothing special about this place. They have your rolled taquitos, tacos, burritos, rice, and beans. However, the service is fairly fast and the value for your money is decent. They don't have a drive through, but it's decent fast food, unlike the big "you call this mexican?" fast-food taco-chains. You can eat there, too, but it is a fairly small hole-in-the-wall place.
When I want fast mexican food, I go here.
- Pros: Rolled Taquitos, Decent Value, Fast Service
- Cons: Limited Menu, Nothing Special
