An AMAZING find in Malibu
by traceyharris at Citysearch
I visited the Sage Room on Friday night for the first time with my family. I must say that the food and the service were fantastic. We were promptly greeted by the owner who introduced us to his wife. Once seated, we reviewed the menu and the owner came back to take our order. With each order we made, he commented something special about the dish. If it was a special recipe from his Italian mother, or if the cheese was imported, or even if it was just to say, "you won't be dissapointed" and how it was prepared. I really wish there was something like this restaurant in the San Fernando Valley. I will definately be back, but it is quite far from my home. Excellent!!!!
- Pros: food, service, ambiance
- Cons: distance from my home!

A good friend of mine brought me to the Sage Room and I have to say it is honestly one of the best places I have eaten at in LA. The food is fantastic and the service was the way it should be ~ prompt, professional and friendly. It was like I was a guest at someone's home who did everything they could to ensure that my stay was memorable, and that it was!
I will certainly be back!
- Pros: Delicious food, cozy atmosphere and some of the best service I have had in LA!
- Cons: A long drive....
Fun, intimate environment and great food!

I've dined at Sage Room 3 times since meeting the owner Claudio on a bike ride. When he told me about the restaurant I decided to try it that night. The food was wonderful, and the service was outstanding though it was a bit more expensive than I expected. My next 2 visits were for the Sunday brunch. Again, outstanding food and very reasonably priced. You get the sense that Claudio or his wife are personally in charge of the food preparation and special selections.
The only negative, and it's not the fault of the restaurants, is the deafening noise level created by the Neanderthals on their Harley's going up and down the PCH on Sunday mornings.
- Pros: Excellent food, good specials, welcoming atmosphere
- Cons: Morons on motorcycles on Sunday mornings.
Outstanding!

We made the drive from Westlake to Sage and boy, was it worth it! My husband and I reside in Phoenix but were visiting his parents for the weekend. Sage is our new favorite restaurant! The welcome and service was outstanding... The meal, fantastic. We left our mark by ordering 5 deserts because the variety sounded too good to pass up. Most delicious cheesecake we've ever tasted. 10/10
Best food and ambience

We just came from having dinner at Sage Room. The owner Claudio is outstanding. His welcome is exceptional. His presence with his wife and son makes the difference. We enjoyed talking to them and enjoyed equally their home made lasagna and the whole wheat spaghetti with chicken, rapini and sundried tomatoes. We will for sure go back more than once.
- Pros: Food, Service and ambience
- Cons: None
Wonderful place for a delicious dinner!

We are always more than happy to drive from the valley to Malibu to dine at this fabulous little restaurant. Claudio, the owner, provides incredibly personalized service and will accommodate virtually any request. The food is creative, interesting and absolutely delicious. My favorite is the pumpkin raviolis, which I must confess I ate five times in a span of about four weeks, I was so addicted to them. We recently had an ahi that was rubbed with chilis, over crispy spinach, which was out of this world. It was one of Claudios seasonal specials, which are always wonderful. The food is more than reasonably priced for the quality and experience we received. I cant recommend this place enough for romantic dinner or anytime you just want a great meal.
- Pros: Personalized Service, Delicious Food
Do Lunch

If only the Sage Room were located off of PCH...somewere the bikers are not adding fuel for the turn up Kanan. The noise is deafning and detracts from the whole dining experience. Wine list is over priced...BYO.
- Pros: Food, Service
- Cons: PCH Noise, $$$$ wine
TASTES TO WOW YOU

After knowing of this place for sometime I FINALLY went for dinner and have been back several times since. On my first visit I was proud to meet the owner and his wife who are in the restaurant cooking and overseeing all. On one visit I had the Filet with a cranberry and wine reduction...TO DIE FOR!! I have also had the veal in lemon and capers...tender and slightly tart....heaven!! The decor is colorfull and soothing and the service is exemplary. This is a real must for a romantic or even just a great meal. You will also have to try the deserts....luscious!! Mid to high price range but worth every cent.
- Pros: Devine food, devine service, devine atmosphere
- Cons: None found
Perfect Italian restaurant.
by missy4la at Citysearch
This has to be one of my favorite little Italian restaurants. The service is impeccable, the food delicious, the ambience superb. If you weren't looking for it, you might not even know that is there. It really is one of the best kept secrets in Malibu. I've been twice and thoroughly enjoyed both visits and would highly and without reservation recommend this little gem to anyone that wants to enjoy a romantic, wonderful Italian dinner. I found the prices to be very reasonable too. I've was taken there on a date once and found the service to be outstanding and then took a friend for her birthday and we received the same impeccable, unpretenious, friendly service.
- Pros: Impeccable service, outstanding food., excellent value
Under-rated!

I went there recently-- probably my 5th dinner there-- and the owner/host was unbelieveably haughty and rude. Totally unable to prepare a Tuscan steak "medium" as ordered, and told me maybe I should go to McDonald's instead. It came out raw the first time, and crispy burnt the 2nd time. My wife's food was also subpar. A bad night I'll forgive, but abuse and rudeness I won't.
When the true colors came out, I decided that I'll never eat there again. At Tradinoi or Allegria, they always treat you nice. Never again will these guys get my money.
- Pros: food, free parking, quiet
