I get so many compliments on my haircuts from Carla. She truly listens to what you are looking for. I am always happy with the results. The salon has a great atmosphere, too. It is a bit expensive, but it is worth it.

The Best Salon In Los Angeles

Carla and her staff have the best salon in Los Angeles. I feel taken care of from the moment I enter and feel beautiful when I leave. Carla is an amazing hair dresser. I have had the deep moisturizing treatments...they are incredible. I LOVE the new scalp oil they created. I use it several times a week. I highly recommend the Steam Salon!!!

Best Hair cut and color in town with amazing ambiance

I have gotten my hair cut at this salon for many years. The owner Carla gives the best haircut in LA. I am in the beauty industry and have my hair cut by some of the the best in the industry and none have been able to compare. She truly listens to you and gives you exactly what you hoped for and more. The energy at the salon is amazing and you feel as though you are part of their family after a few visits. Friendly, professional and great service. Fabulous decor too! Could not say enough great things about the staff and service. They do an superb job of making you feel special!

By far the best salon in LA. Relaxing environment, the best stylist, remarkable colorist and the most amazing treatments outside of Paris! I would never go anywhere else plus being next Jar you couldn't ask for a better place to end a day.

THE BEST SALON AND STAFF IN ALL OF LOS ANGELES!!!

About five years ago I moved out here from NYC and my stylist from Bumble and Bumble recommended me to Steam. Steam is such a wonderful experience every time I step foot in the door. The service is exquisite and the stylists really know what they are doing!! I have been a client for years and I have never been happier with my hair!! I get both my cut and color done and once a month I do a treatment. I wouldn't trade this place for the world! There are many salons that may have fine stylists, but this place is special because along with top stylists every staff member is kind, genuine and extremely helpful!

• Pros: Talented and experienced stylists in a salon that makes you feel like you are on a "me" vacation!
• Cons: There really isn't anything bad that I could even think of after 5 years!

Let your hair blow off some steam at this salon where the scalp treatments with massage are a cut above the rest.

Those wanting the creme de la creme should try the Carita Exfoliating Treatment (offered in both one hour and twenty-minute versions), which uses Carita's Le Renovateur to exfoliate, decongest, remove build up and nourish the scalp and hair. Made from sunflower seeds fermented in essential oils of clove, thyme, and lemon for a year in an oak barrel, it's a hair indulgence like no other.

I was shopping for a new colorist and my friend recommended Emily Thomas at Steam. I couldn't have been more thrilled with the way my hair came out. I love it and so many people compliment me on how natural the color looks.

If you want to have your hair colored by a woman who knows her stuff, go see Emily at Steam. She is a bi-costal hair colorist who works in both New York and Los Angeles. I have tried to find a colorist who was both creative AND could give me the natural, fun, yet stylish look I have wanted for years. After going to Emily, I ended up with the color I have been searching for! She is amazing--she knows exactly how hair will react to color and spends a lot of time consulting with you before you get your first color from her--I felt like she was a mind-reader. Very professional and nice as well. Every penny spent on my hair has been worth it. As long as I am in L.A., I will NOT let anyone else color my hair.

• Pros: cutting-edge, yet affordable, not a "trendy-so-they-don't care-about-you" type salon
• Cons: none--my color from Emily was amazing

Steam makes you feel like home....with great hair!

I have been coming to Steam to get my hair cut by Carla since their doors opened. Over the years I have had many friends follow me to the salon and look more and more beautiful. I have had my hair colored, gotten conditioning treatments and have loved the whole Steam experience. The vibe in the salon is like a family.it makes you feel at home. k

BEST CUT & COLOR IN LOS ANGELES

Since I have been going to STEAM, people stop me on the street and ask me which salon I go to. In fact I discovered STEAM the same way. I saw a girl with a fantastic haircut and asked her who did it. Valerie Stoneking is my stylist. I keep her cards in my purse and hand them out to strangers when they ask about my hair. I am an L.A. native and have never been to a better salon. STEAM is also very down to earth, I have never experienced any attitude.

I moved to Seattle last year and tried to find a new stylist. After several mediocre cuts/colors, I have now resorted to fly back to L.A. when I need my hair cut/colored; that is how good they are. I have had my hair colored by several colorists at STEAM and they have always done an outstanding job.

• Pros: Valerie Stoneking....amazing stylist and lovely person
