Consignment Sale of my precious Daytona 675

by Peter C

Moto Club is blocks from where I live in Santa Monica. I've gone in for Oil, plugs and small stuff. I once needed a bearing removed from a linkage which required a press, Moto club did it for me on the spot and didn't even charge me. So, when it came time for me to sell my precious Daytona 675 with 1300 miles, I could only think of one place to go.

Anyone who has a bike that is in mint condition and is worried about leaving it on consignment with a shop can be confident with Moto Club. They appreciated my custom and add-ons like true motorbike enthusiasts would and actually got a deal better than selling it on my own in 3 weeks! best part is I never had to do a thing. Victor called and told me to pick-up my money and I did. I will go there for all my parts, service and consignment from now on!

  • Pros: Great communications and straight forward
  • Cons: none

Do NOT SELL your BIKE HERE!

by Nate95687

I signed a consignment agreement with Victor of MotoClub di Santa Monica to sell my 1999 Kawasaki Ninja. He told me he would have it sold within 2-3 weeks. About two weeks later Victor informed me that the bike had sold. I made arrangements to pickup my cash but an hour before I was supposed to meet him he told me he would feel more comfortable depositing the money into my checking account. Since the transaction was made through Paypal he wanted the money to clear his account before he handed the cash to me. Understandingly, I didn’t push the issue as he promised the money would be in my account within two days.

I went through three weeks of worrying if I would ever see the money. Victor lied to me saying that he had deposited the money in my account (to which he didn’t have the account number.) He stopped answering my calls and resorted to texting instead.

I didn’t see the money until I warned him that if I didn’t see the check in my mailbox with seven days that I would file a small claim with LA county court. He overnighted the check (which arrived on the seventh day!)

Oh, he also promised to send an additional $100 for all the trouble. I didn’t receive it with the initial payment. I emailed Victor a few days later to remind him of his promise. He replied on September 29th claiming it would be in the mail within a few days. Between that date and when I actually saw the check (October 20th) I left several messages on his cell. His mechanics do good work but DO NOT trust this guy with your money!

  • Pros: he sold my bike
  • Cons: I had to wonder if I would ever see the money for the sale.

Friendly and Honest

by tartels

Coming into a place like MotoClub as a new motorcycle owner was a bit intimidating at first but it didn't last long. Everyone there was wonderfully helpful and willing to put up with all of my newbie questions. The service is prompt and very professional. All around the best experience I've had with any vehicle.

  • Pros: High quality and affordable products.

Be careful, poor follow up after the sale

by slowryde

had to call 4 times to get my paperwork mailed to me for a bike that was on consignment. When I received the "package" it only contained the pink slip, not the paperwork I filled out and signed. Victor said it was lost. The pink slip was not even filled out by the registered owner. I had to track down the owner to complete the sale!!!!!!Ridiculous!!! Attempted to call Victor but he has yet to return my call. I've purchased bikes from private parties much easier than this, and he was paid to sell this.

  • Pros: Friendly staff
  • Cons: follow up

FAST, FRIENDLY, AND HONEST!!! AWESOME MOTORCYCLE SHOP!

by ChrisGSXR600K8

First off I'd like to say going to Motoclub is 100000000% BETTER than going to your local dealership when it comes to repairs and parts. The Owner of the store Victor makes you feel like a friend rather than someone who's trying to dig deep in your pocket. Friendly Staff, Service is quick and precise. Best of all... they Don't try ripping you off by making unnecessary repairs or pushing you to buy this or that. They get to know what kind of rider you are and what your looking to accomplish. Victor is a good guy with good intentions. He occasionally invites me to go to the track with "motoclub" for trackdayz. Motoclub is the place to go whether you're looking to purchase some after market parts, oem parts, or even get repair work done. They are fast reliable and honest. I guarantee you won't have a bad experience with them.

Above and Beyond

by RachelLynn

Female rider, here. I grew up in Oregon and road bikes for six years before I moved to L.A. Here I had a 5 year break from riding and just a month ago invested in a bike again in order to tackle the rising cost of gasoline. Long story short...I've been into Moto Club 6 or 7 times, the first time to buy a new front tire, second time to replace my battery...and all others to ask questions about my new bike and the way it worked as well as questions about riding in L.A. I felt totally taken care of and encouraged as a 'born again virgin' rider by the staff at the shop without a hint of anything condescending (which can be a factor for a female rider). And, I felt that they genuinely cared about my safety and the safety of my bike. Thank you!

  • Pros: Down to Earth and fully explicatory

Very good service, friendly, good prices!

by Siska12

I had some problems with my Vespa, it was leaking fuel. They immediately knew what was going on and in half an hour later my scooter was fixed for a very good price.

The guys were really friendly , I will certainly go back if there is something wrong with my scooter!

The only place I will ever take my bikes.....

by col_kurtz

I've been riding for many years and I've have had a lot of bad experiences with motorcycle shops. Several months ago I bought a new bike and took it in to these guys when it started overheating. I assumed it was a fan problem so I gave them my credit card to order a new fan. I got a call a couple hours later (which was a lot faster than expected). Their mechanic told me he had found a way to fix it without replacing the fan (which probably saved me hundreds of dollars). They only charged me a small fee for the diagnostic. They also topped off all my fluids and fixed a broken light without being asked to do so, and without charging me.

They are always friendly and professional, and they go out of their way to do MORE than they are expected to do. I never use to trust mechanics, so every time I would get my bikes back from a shop, I'd pull over and check every bolt and plug to make sure nothing was loose. Now I don't even worry about it. I recently started club racing, and I have these guys do all the work on my race bike. When it back I take it straight out on my warm-up lap without a second thought. I wont ever let anyone else near it.

  • Pros: Totally trustworthy and all around great service. Good prices too.
  • Cons: Wish they were open on mondays!

UNBEATABLE PRICES, KNOWLEDGABLE, AND VERY CUSTOMER FRIENDLY!

by gtracy

Very pleased with the knowledge and service over at MotoClub! So much that I drive almost 40 miles to get all my parts and service done when I have a place I could go to 5 minutes from my house. The prices are UNBEATABLE! And as far as parts, if it's not in stock, they can have it for me within 1-2 days! Victor and his staff are very professional and are definitely all about customer service. They even have BBQ's on Sundays when there's a MotoGP race, tons of food and drinks, my wife and I have attended several and look forward to more in the future! Definitely a place worth checking out, you won't be disappointed!

  • Pros: Great prices, great service, knowledgable staff, very customer friendly
