I love anything French. From French kissing to French toast, I appreciate France's ability to make all things so passionate, aesthetically beautiful, and delicious. I came here this past Sunday and ordered the Eggs Benedict, which had poached eggs and Canadian Bacon with hollandaise sauce. It came with a side of fries and salad. I was surprised at how small the portions were compared to some other breakfast places but since I've officially started a new, healthier lifestyle which included eating smaller portions, I was fine with that. The prices are reasonable. Parking on Westwood is not fun.

We had a birthday celebration at Soleil, a group of about 10 people. Everything was great. The food was delicious, the waiters were all very nice, helpful, knew everything about the items on the menu, and accommodated food allergies and preferences. I highly recomend Soleil, and we will definitely be back.
Pros: the food, the service, the atmosphere
Cons: there weren't any

Quick seating, even though the restaurant was packed. We were greeted by a wonderful host who came to our table throughout the evening to see how we were doing. He might have been the owner since he knew everything and everyone. He made the whole night a wonderful experience by his warm attitude as well as his great food recommendations. The auto dimming lights were atmospheric and fun. Leave room for dessert, as somehow we ended up with all the desserts that they offer at our table and all were delicious. Great wines for good prices too. We will definitely be back to this restaurant. Wish we had found it sooner.
Pros: service, host, food, 1 hour free parking at Borders
Cons: street parking

I went last night with my boyfriend and will definitely return again. We started with the parmesan fondue which was really yummy. I wanted the beef Bourguignon but they had just sold out so I opted for the salmon. It was good with really generous portions and my b/f had the chicken and shrimp ravioli which was also good. The best part about this place was definitley the service and the desser!! I coundn't decide on which one to get so I got 2. One was a strawberry/chocolate mousse with rasberry truffle in the middle and the other was a puff pastry with fresh strawberries and bavarian cream filling on top of a strawberry sauce. Yum!!!
Pros: Ample parking, reasonable prices, service and dessert
Cons: They ran out of the Beef Bourguignon at 8:30 on a Friday night

So my cousin proclaims to be a LA pro. She loves everything LA. Me, I live behind the Orange curtain and rarely venture north, certainly never for food, but you have the Getty. So, I asked my cousin where my wife and I should eat after a long day at the museum. Moustache cafe she says. So all is good until i call. Number disconnected. quick PDA....oops, they are closed. Thank you citysearch review who says that they liked Moustach Cafe but Soleil better. This place is amazing. We have traveled much of the world, this is tops! Their steaks, fondue, and especially the pumpkin ravioli is stunning! Ambiance is cozy and the host (owner?) is key to the overall experience. We will drive up and bring our friends. happy happy happy!!!!
Pros: Everything was perfect.
Cons: None!

I saw this restaurant on best of citysearch, so I decided to have my friend's birthday dinner there. The restaurant is nice and cozy, with a warm atmosphere. The host was very nice, he was also surprisingly caring. We ordered our food and me and my friend went out for a smoke, so that my other friend can secretly tell the host to put a candle on our dessert later. He came out and told us that our food was ready on our table! The food was delicious! The special that I had, I forgot the French name of it, but it was a linguini with stripes of filet mignon and mushrooms, was very yummy. It's one of the best French restaurants that I've been to in L.A. Upon the dessert that we ordered, they even gave us a dessert platter with candle on it, on the house! We ended up having all the desserts on the menu, and they were heaven... The raspberry creme brulee was one of the best, not too sweet and creamy, the tart tatin was yummy, and the best, the Ferrillet de freise, it's light, with my favorite fruit, strawberry, and the puff pastry is just so crispy! It was a wonderful meal, and I will go back for sure!
Pros: great food and service, convenient parking at borders which is next to the restaruant.
Cons: none

Having moved from the midwest 6 years ago, we have yet to find a restaurant that really blew us away in LA. Well Soleil did it. Four of us went for a birthday. We didn't know what to expect, had never heard a word about the place. Nothing and I mean nothing was bad about this meal. The owner is a show unto himself. The decor isn't fancy and we liked it that way. All efforts were put into the food. Fantastic! Don't waste your money on Spagos or any of those other fancy named joints that make you wait when the place is empty. Soleil surpassed our expectations 10 fold. Now all that being said, don't go there. If this place is discovered, I won't be able to get a table.
Pros: Everything
Cons: None

My family was visiting from out of town and we wanted to try something new. Their love of french cuisine pointed me towards this quaint neighborhood watering hole. The staff was so friendly and accomodating right from the start that it was hard to believe we were still in Los Angeles. The restaurant itself is small but their menu is tasty in a big way. I had the duck and it was to die for! A wonderful experience all around! The family was impressed and we all left stuffed and satisfied. A great place to escape from the typical LA scene and relax with a glass of wine. I will back many times!
Pros: Phenominal Food, Wonderful Staff
Cons: Parking at the Borders lot
