Great service, amazing variety of choices

by Peace1

I was waited on by one of the sweetest servers; she was very nice and totally took care of us the whole time, even though she looked as though she had alot of tables. She told us she has not been working there long but she handled our table beautifully...her name started with M-something...tall brunette very pretty. I used to be a waitress myself and my husband and i both remarked at what lovely service she gave us.

We were also both delighted at the variety of dishes the farm offers. We have been there on brunch shifts and also dinner, which have both been delightful.

Occasionally for brunch things can be a little hectic, but most of the servers here are always polite and friendly despite this.

  • Pros: Variety of food, very nice servers
  • Cons: sometimes a bit busy and loud if there are families w/ babie

Awful Service, Ok Food

by Sheauen

I love their red velvet cupcakes and their carrot cake muffins. But if you choose to dine in there be ready for bad service (the waiter too 15 minutes to get us water and our drinks and we had to ask for extra glasses of water because he didn't bring enough), the kitchen was backed up even though the restaurant wasn't full, we waited 30 minutes for salad and a cheese plate. Always slow bad service no matter how busy they are. Plus the cobb salad that was 16 bucks was no better than the trader joes ready made stuff. skip it and eat at the farmers market instead.

  • Pros: The bakery is the best thing about the place
  • Cons: overpriced, supermarket prepacked quality salads, bad servic

Maybe for lunch, but an uneventful dinner

by tlorenz

I went to The Farm @ the Grove with a friend who was visiting from out of town, and the experience was sup-par. Unlike Morel's, Cheesecake Factory, or The Whisper, The Farm was pretty empty for a Saturday night and the seating was uncomfortable. We started out with the Tuna Sashimi Tower which was beautifully described but horribly unseasoned: apparently it was covered in a wasabi sauce, but there was no heat at all to the dish. The rest of the food wasn't bad but not anything special (brisket sandwich and glazed walnut salmon salad) and not worth the price- $19 salads, $15 sandwiches, etc. and was much more suitable for lunch rather than dinner. Our server was unattentive and somewhat short, which didn't improve the experience. If you're willing to spend an extra $10 per person (or the same price at the Cheesecake Family) go to another Grove restaurant.

Overpriced! Not worth the money...

by mxms

If you're at the grove and you have to choose between Cheesecake Factory and the Farm just go to Cheesecake Factory. Food was not good, it was overpriced, I would NOT recommend it and I would not go back.

Fantastic Food!

by zcassz

Out of all the places to eat in LA, my family and I always go to The Farm every time we visit. The salad menu is huge, which is great for me because I'm a vegetarian. The last time I went I had the Grilled Artichoke Salad and it was mouthwatering. The artichoke was cooked to perfection and the dressing on top of the salad was flavored with just the right amount of citrus. The baked goods are fabulous too. I recommend the Red Velvet cupcakes. The service is quick, and the waiters are friendly and helpful. All in all, this is a fantastic restaurant!

  • Pros: Parking (right across the street is a parking garage)

Good eats, in a cozy corner

by jericsmall

The Farm at the Grove in Beverly Hills is cozily nestled next to the movie theaters in eye-shot of the fountain. The food is good, and the staff friendly, with regular check-ins. Every time I've gone, the food tastes very fresh.

Terrible service! This means Staff and Management.

by conciergecarin

In short six of us went here to celebrate our friend's birthday. We didn't mind waiting 70 minutes for a table. We were excited to get drinks and check out the menu. We were greeted 10 minutes after we sat. We ordered drinks and after waiting 15 mins started getting a little angry. We grabbed the Manager and explained. Not only did he not believe us, but he kept waiting even longer. The Waiter had been rude from the beginning and this made it worse. I myself have been a Waitress and love large parties of six or more. It's easier to make a large amount of money faster because gratuity is included. This meal took two hours! Service was terrible, the meal that wasn't tasty enough ended up costing $200 + 18% gratuity.

It's up to you.... But I now believe The Farmer's Market is a much better choice for food and service.

Great breakfast and lunch items

by ewyner

The Farm has a great location, central in the Grove and right next to the movie theater. You can choose indoor or outside seating, where you can watch the water fountain. The menu takes classic breakfast and lunch dishes and usually puts a creative ingredient or twist in.

Comfort food gets an eclectic twist at this local mini-chain.

by Contributor

In Short
The Farm's three locations share the breezy charm and airy appeal of a Hamptons farmhouse. While the Beverly Hills location is a tad more spacious, the Grove opens into the art deco-inspired lobby of the mall's elegant cineplex. Meanwhile, their newest location in downtown's L.A. Live complex expands even further with indoor/outdoor seating on a welcoming patio. No matter the location, the comfort food menu stays homecooked and California-influenced. Ahi is served three ways, like with tomatoes and scallions dressed in a soy vinaigrette, and puff pastry chicken potpie is just like Mom's. An extensive brunch menu includes waffles, burgers and giant salads.

Great food but hostess is always a b!!!!!!!

by leawood

Great food. I will give them that, but on every occasion (3 times) the hostess has been a raving b!!! She seemed irritated that she had to seat us. When we arrived at the table she threw the menus down and walked away!!!!
