by foody555
Great frozen/blended drinks... I like Peet's hot coffee much more... Overpriced..and I hope they recycle all of the plastic in which they serve drinks.
- Pros: casual hang out
- Cons: overpriced..could be CLEANER
Avoid Porter Ranch Ralph's Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf
by ragump
I live near the Porter Ranch Ralph's they newly installed a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf I've been there on two occasions I have gone in and requested a regular light drip they have absolutely no idea of what you are talking about I have informed them that Coffee Bean has the following (light, dark, decaf, flavored)
I found it to be much too strong. As a result I've been incapacitated the rest of the day it is not worth the $1.95 I have no intentions of returning back to the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf inside the Porter Ranch Ralph's.

- Pros: Convenient
- Cons: Expensive, Not Worth $1.95
A family-run empire of cafe-shops that's been brewing caffeinated beverages since 1963.

In Short
Honey-colored oak and leaded glass give a homey touch to this California-based chain of specialty coffeehouses. Commonly referred to as the Bean, this purveyor of high-end blends--from dark roasts to oolongs--built its reputation on the international scope of its seasonal bean offerings (originating from Yemen to Hawaii) and a highly diversified selection of teas. Pastries encourage patrons to sit; espresso makers, French presses and coffee grinders let folks bring it home.
A very good bean.

I've been to many Coffee Beans, but this one is one of my favorites, if not my top favorite. The staff is very friendly and always gets the drinks right (others I have been to forget specifics, such as NSA or decaf, etc.). There are many places to sit, both inside and outside, which is very accommodating, and the atmosphere is very homey like the editorial noted. I come to this location before work to get my fix, and am always satisfied.
- Pros: Ambience, Service, Beverage
- Cons: Parking
A little better than your average Coffee Bean
by baychick
This Coffee Bean is just like any other in many respects, with its usual decor and drink options - a huge selection of hot and ice-blended coffees and teas. However, this one has a lot of food options, including sandwiches, muffins, pastries, and a large assortment of bagels and cream cheese. Additionally, there is ample seating, and the round outdoor patio boasts umbrellas, a fireplace, and heat lamps for when it's cold. It's a great place to socialize, people-watch (yes, there are sometimes celebrities), or just read the paper with your morning drink.
- Pros: location, seating, food and drinks
- Cons: parking, pretty standard (it IS a chain)
Forget Starbucks
by digdoug2001
This is a gret chain and this location in particular is great for chillin out and people watching. They have great selections for coffe, tea and other beverages. My fave is the Ice Blended Green Tea. I read somewhere that green tea is health in any form. This is a delicious way to get your daily dose...although the beverage is loaded up with carbs and such. Oh well. They have a really tasty peppermint coffee during the holidays as well. Overall, much better and more unique than Starbucks.
- Pros: Beverages and Location
- Cons: Parking
Great location!
by dmenkes
It's very nice here. I love sitting out front and people-watching. On a good day, it's just perfect to sit outside after lunch and take 10 minutes to enjoy the day before heading back to the office. I miss it already. :)
- Pros: chai latte
- Cons: no parking
Better than the other big chains
by cambird
It's a shame the Coffee Bean didn't catch on before that other big corporate chain began dominating the world. Not only does it serve better-tasting drinks, but the Coffee Bean has a wider variety and offers more variations than its competitors.
Hey! Another Chain Coffee House...
by tychovski
This is remarkably like that other chain coffee house - which is to say that it's acceptable product for somewhat acceptable prices. I live on coffee - but if I had to buy every cup I drink at these prices I would soon be too poor to shop here. Everything is fine qualitywise - just stifelingly corporate, and it seems to have all been done before.
- Pros: Parking lot next to the store.
- Cons: Pricey & corporate
Best Coffee On The Strip
by svantico
I'm not a real fan of the fancy coffee joints, but I love Coffee Bean. That's saying a lot considering we have a Peet's coffee inside my building.
I love the daily flavored coffee choices.
- Pros: Convenient
